Pan Afrika Tastings

Generous servings, beautiful staff ... great tastes of Afrika. Loved the handwashing with rose water and the face painting + an interesting gift shop. Two big groups in at the same time and staff coped well. We were in early and ate early after a big day in Cape Town and missed the music and... read more

Ambience and music very African and the African feast was so delicious. There was a set menu with about 20 different dishes to try. You ate as much as you wanted. It was all so to die for.

We went to the Africa Cafe on our first night in Cape Town, and the first night of our holiday. The restaurant provides a set menu of 16 courses and you can have more of any of the dishes (if you've still got room). We told them that my husband doesn't eat cheese but they weren't able to offer any... More

Sure, this restaurant definitely caters to tourists, but it didn't feel like they were trying to rip you off, which was nice. The entire evening was so much fun - from the staff members going around painting faces, to the entire waitstaff breaking out into African songs, to the incredible selection of food we got to try. We didn't love... More

This is an excellent restaurant. Food and face painting, what more could you want? The food itself is really delicious and there is plenty of it. The staff were friendly and the performance during dinner was brilliant and lots of fun.

We are staying at the Cape Heritage hotel, so it seemed a good idea to eat here, as it is situated in the same location. Good choice! We were well looked after from the start, the food was amazing; too much too eat, though- it was hard to send food back. But that is the idea - they bring you... More

With only a short time in Cape Town we visited Africa Cafe for a late dinner with friends. We knew it was aimed at tourists (lil gift shop was a tempting) so had a fun but relaxing time, and after a long day of travel we were all grateful not have to choose the menu. We had a lovely evening,... More

A friend highly recommended this restaurant - unfortunately, it turned out that we have quite different expectations for what is reasonable to expect for 275 ZAR. Africa Cafe's set menu costs 275 ZAR; there are no other options, but you may order as much as you like. The food comes from all over Africa, but is sadly very dull; the... More

Went to the cafe for dinner for our last night in Cape Town and it was such a great experience! From to food to the music to the face painting, we all had so much fun and made our last night start with a bang! Would definitely recommend this restaurant for groups!
