A real experience in Cape Town

Great night out for family of 4. Catered reasonably for gluten free menu though no option for dessert. However the amass of other dishes made up for this and even satiated the 14 year old Feed-Me-Machine. The marinaded sticky chicken wings were awesome, sou sauce honey and a certain magic tempted... read more

We had a family dinner here and I left wanting to go back. The food was perfectly cooked, I've never been in a restaurant so clean, and our server was on point. I would suggest not eating the orange chicken, unless of course you would prefer quiting your job and moving to Cape Town. It is addictive, that's the only... More

A wonderful experience all around! You get to sample a variety of foods from throughout Africa--and get more of what you really love. The singing and dancing that accompanies dinner just adds to the great time.

We visited here without booking and luckily managed to get a table, though I highly recommend booking in advance. The staff were very friendly and accommodating of our small child. The food is delightful you will leave with your tastebuds and stomach very satisfied. My only other advice is come hungry :)

We went at the suggestion of friends who live in Cape Town while we were visiting. We made a reservation the day before, but still had to wait a few minutes. We were seated on the top floor. Each floor and room are stunningly decorated in African themes. The menu is a set menu, which was placed on the table... More

I visited with a group of 16 tourists. The service was very slow and challenged at most. At the same time I felt like we were rushed. Overall, however the group enjoyed it. The food was great and we loved the African singing.

We found eating out in Cape Town restaurants very good indeed, with good quality ingredients and cooked well, but we wanted to try some African food and our concierge suggested Africa Cafe. We had a great evening - we received a warm welcome to the lovely restaurant, and the fabulous set menu was explained to us by Faith, who looked... More

An absolutely stunningly designed restaurant in Cape Town that serves a tasting platter of dishes from all over Africa. the beautiful decor is matched by equally fun and entertaining service. There was a super african dance performance in the night and the children were given special attention. The food was lovely as well - some dishes went down better than... More

The ambience and food made it most worthwhile. But the overall experience was disappointing as our particular server was not engaging. The staff generally seemed bored with their jobs. But the quality of the food exceeded our expectations so overall, still worth doing.

Yes this is hands down quite a touristy restaurant but Africa Cafe does not pretend to be anything else. A great and very hospital African dining experience giving you a chance to experience not only food from all over the African continent, but to also a small taste of the culture. The staff are very friendly and eager to explain... More
