A journey through African Gastronomy

Enjoyed the chicken wings and the chicken mango and the spicy beef, basically everything is good. The casaba (sp?) bread seemed like a cheese bread and was warm and very tasty. The music and face painting was a plus. Wait staff was attentive.

Four of us had dinner here. The food is authentic and plenty of it. The staff sang traditional songs and painted our faces. We had a great time. Good value too.

Africa cafe is fun, lively and full of great atmosphere. You are encouraged to eat with your hands (although cutlery is available) as the staff bring out a range of African dishes being cooked that day. There is music, face painting, and I absolutely loved trying all the food - definitely recommended in cape town and great value.

A good tourist experience - the R225 set menu providing a taste of Africa through a succession of dishes supported by the staff breaking into song. Great fun.

My friend & I stumbled on this little gem by accident & we couldn't of been more pleased! The restaurant itself is decorated beautifully throughout. The staff were exceptional throughout the evening - very friendly, attentive & willing to share their culture & heritage. The food was plentiful & cooked perfectly. We wish we could of ate more but we... More

We had a family dinner here and I left wanting to go back. The food was perfectly cooked, I've never been in a restaurant so clean, and our server was on point. I would suggest not eating the orange chicken, unless of course you would prefer quiting your job and moving to Cape Town. It is addictive, that's the only... More

A wonderful experience all around! You get to sample a variety of foods from throughout Africa--and get more of what you really love. The singing and dancing that accompanies dinner just adds to the great time.

We visited here without booking and luckily managed to get a table, though I highly recommend booking in advance. The staff were very friendly and accommodating of our small child. The food is delightful you will leave with your tastebuds and stomach very satisfied. My only other advice is come hungry :)

We went at the suggestion of friends who live in Cape Town while we were visiting. We made a reservation the day before, but still had to wait a few minutes. We were seated on the top floor. Each floor and room are stunningly decorated in African themes. The menu is a set menu, which was placed on the table... More
