Sample a fixed menu of varied recipes from all over Africa in one location. We sampled food from Egypt, South Africa, Morocco and other countries everything tasted wonderful and was prepared using coconut oil. Very healthy and enjoyable dinner.

It was all you wanted to eat and there was a large variety of things to try. Service was very good and the food tasty. We wanted a copy of the menu that listed the dishes we were served but were denied a copy. Small gift shop attached to restaurant. If you want to try typical African dishes, this is... More

While visiting Cape Town, it was suggested that we try African Cuisine at the Africa Cafe. Several rooms to choose from are all decorated in bright colors and offers a cozy atmosphere! Set menu of African dishes keep coming and while... More

Working in the tourism industry, I had an opportunity to take my clients to Africa Cafe. This little gem never ceases to disappoint, with a warm welcome, endless African Dishes, eat all you want, desert and coffee all inclusive, it is value for money and a great African Experience for those who are visiting.

Excellent food, but overpriced. Very much tourist prices, but we enjoyed the meal and the staff were very friendly

Africa Café, Shortmarket Street (http://www.africacafe.co.za/) 50 m from the Cape Heritage Hotel where we staying. Recommended in the Lonely Planet guide as touristy but great fun – they were right, I enjoyed it. A thirteen (yes thirteen) dish fixed menu of African food interspersed by the waitresses forming a storming traditional African choir. We sat on the roof top terrace... More

Researched it on internet before South Africa tour from the States. Loved all about the place. A highlight of our three days in wonderful, beautiful Cape Town.

The food is nice but not special. The concept of serving 13 dishes after which you can order your perfered dishes as much as you wish is nice but only if you have a big stomach. Otherwise it is a bit overpaid. Pleasant service. Waiters form a great singers choir.
