The Cousins Trattoria is run by two Italian cousins. The food is absolutely wonderful, genuinely Italian, and reasonable-priced (main courses ranging from R75 to R100). Perhaps one of the best things about the restaurant is the passion with which it is run. If you are very lucky, one of the cousins will introduce you to the secrets of genuine Italian... More

Located in the center of the city only a short taxi ride from the waterfront and with MUCH better food and service. Enjoy a pre or post dinner drink at the friendly bar while you select your meal or wait for the taxi. We had two meals not at all expensive but choice is limited especially for starters. If in... The ambience, music, pasta and wines...they complemented one another and I felt like I am in Italy or somewhere closer to it. I have had a hard time to remind myself that I am still in Cape Town. Waiters are super friendly too and it is really a shame that I don't have names for their faces in my mind... More

Pasta is what you come here for, handmade daily and described to you and prepared with passion. Strozzapreti Bolognese is a regional speciality absolutely delicious, also the ravioli stuffed with ricotta and spinach served in sage and butter. What an unexpected treat down a small street in central Cape Town the cousins serve and cook their food with pride. We... More

The food here is economical and filling, and although the service is slow, hey you're on holiday so chill.

We had an extremely positive experience at the Cousins - a true family run business. The food was DELICIOUS. The atmosphere was fun and hospitable. And the owners were lovely hosts! After a day of hiking Table Mountain, this hearty Italian food was PERFECT. The Lasagna was a favorite of our group (as well as every other dish we had... More

Pasta, pasta, pasta. If you think you know pasta, you will know more after dining at Cousins. Be prepared to be schooled about what it takes in addition to TLC to make a great pasta dish. It is part of the ambience of Cousins, simple, to the point. Nothing pretentious about this place, just good food. Dined there twice during... More

Almost hidden at the 'top end' of a side street is this amazing "gem" for those interested in REAL high quality Italian dishes! The venue is in typical simple 'trattoria' style so if you're looking for pseudo upmarket ambiance, don't bother! But if you're into OUTSTANDING home-made pasta dishes and very friendly personal service at moderate prices .... this place... More

A wonderful word of mouth dinner experience. Don't expect high fine dining. This is like drifting into a back alley trattoria in Rome. Being exuberantly greeted by one of the cousins and set at a simple table. The cousin you get will recite the menu and explain the pasta process all to get your mouth watering. The Caprese salad was... More

Me and my wife ate lunch here in july 2014. I had the bolognese and my wife had the ravioli. Both dishes were really good but the ravioli was amazing! To dessert we had bombini which was also really good. And it was very cheap. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
