Service grumpy and poor. Save yourself 10 per cent table service by staying at home, getting a lump of pork from pick and pay and cooking it yourself in a disposable braii.

I've been going to Galbi since 2012, and I've always enjoyed the food and the vibe. Service can be a little slow, but generally it's fine. Tonight was a different story... Our waiter was a disaster!! He seemed disinterested in our table, and then rather annoyed when we asked for extra utensils, napkins, side dishes etc. He also forgot several items,... More

Went there on Friday night with friends- very interesting dining experience and would definitely recommend people to go! If you are into different foods, tastes and experiences - this is definitely a restaurant to try out. We just ordered a variety of different foods, drank wine and Korean spirits and just had a good time cooking, eating and drinking!

There is great choice with other resturants locally - did not rate this place - then to top it the waiter asked for tip ( my tip is don't ask and up your gain )

I have been here twice now (since living in Korea for a year) and think the Korean menu is really great. I wouldn't try the fusion, but that's because I'm there to rekindle my love affair with Samgyupsal. Although the makeolli was priced at R80 which was a hard one to handle, I suppose as its imported and doesn't keep... More

Perhaps the best testament of the popularity of the establishment is that in a Tuesday evening in Cape Town (!) the restaurant was packed with locals and Koreans - and that after you had to wind your way down an obscure alley decorated with plastic leaves until you reached the bigger-than-expected space, festooned with copper pipes and tables with built-in... Yes, I have been to South Korea and eaten Korean BBQ on numerous occasions, including outside South Korea. The set Korean Galbi is a good blend, but the accompanying lettuce. kimchi and pajori portions are too small for the overall set meal if one is to eat the dish as one should. An order of additional pajori, lettuce and kimchi... More

Galbi offers a vast array of African and traditional meats which one can cook to one's own preference. The experience is a unique and worthwhile one. Side dishes are prepared by the kitchen staff and choices range from traditional Korean accompaniments to rustic mashed potato. I would strongly suggest the ostrich and kudu.

Went to Galbi over the weekend for a birthday. What a great place. The atmosphere was great and service excellent. We were not sure what to expect when we got there but the owner made us feel right at home. We had a blast cooking our meats around the table and all the food was truly excellent. O and don't... Just finished my meal there an hr ago, rice was cooked like mash! Wait for at least 30 - 45 mins on just slicing raw meat. Didn't marinate the meat with sufficient time. And the worst.... We found the milky rice wine has been expired already! Would advertise to friends & colleagues not to waste their money on eating there!!!!
