Myself and my husband went to the Test Kitchen while on honeymoon in Cape Town. We were there on a Saturday night and there was a great buzz about the place. We opted for the tasting menu with wine pairings. The food was tasty, however we were let down by one or two of the courses, especially the dessert- which... More

Wow, this was quite a restaurant. We were lucky to get tipped off about this place and knew to get reservations months in advance. We went with the 5 course with wine pairing. It really ended up being 7 courses after treats from the chefs. The wines were paired very nicely, the staff clearly knew all of the details and... More

One of best meals of my life. Cannot say enough good things about the food, the setting, and the service - truly excellent. I hope to return many times.

This restaurant is totally over priced. This restaurant is aimed at 'Euros and Dollars' - you can get much nicer and tastier food elsewhere. The kingklip was drowned is a dreadful overpowering sauce - you could not tell it was kingklip at all - yuk! The service was good though and not invasive but way overpriced also the wines. I... More

You need to book tables in advance but the wait is worthwhile. I loved every bit of it. Ambience excellent, food - classy and world class, service- excellent!!! No words just mesmorized.

When you pass by Cape Town, spend some time at the Test Kitchen. Get the full menu with wines, not cheap but worthy. Kitchen looked as busy as a chemistry university lab, and the food is presented in a fantastic way, apart from being delicious. Have fun :)

We had dinner at the Test Kitchen last year and this time we went back for lunch. We had the 5 course menu with wine pairings and the quality was just as good as before and the service was even better. The restaurant needs no introduction so rest assured that on our latest visit at least standards and quality remain... More

Good food. They explain the food but speaks very fast. I'm not find of it. Expect to pay high price. Four if us the price tag was $900/- for 7 course dinner. Portions are small but they fill you up amply. One experience was enough gor us.

We were able to score a table for lunch but dinner was booked solid for months and months out. The five course lunch menu, for omnivores and for vegetarians delivered during every course. The wine pairings are great and a good value, especially if you are from North America or Europe. We got tipsy, the food was great, the service... More

Wonderful, innovative, excellent food with superb service. The flavours with the food and wines were so well paired. Will definitely return when back in Cape Town. Well done Luke Dale-Roberts
