My wife and I had lunch on the terrace which has a beautiful view of the city of Cape Town. The seating is sheltered from the ever present south Easter wind. The menu is varied with a lean towards traditional Cape Malay fare such as Babotie. I had the Ostrich burger which had a decent sized homemade patty on it... More

27 July 2014 - This is a wonderful place for a tasty meal, pastry (especially their lemon meringue!) and beautiful view of Cape Town. The weather had been miserable all week so it was lovely to have a clear day and sit outside to admire the view. Love it when we have guests and the weather plays along. FOOD -... More

Friendly and quick service despite being under pressure due to graduation day at UCT. Toilets lovely and clean. Food was very good and healthy and wholesome soups, salads and boboties. You eat on a sunny terrace overlooking the southern and northern suburbs. After lunch we lay down under the pines on the slope of the mountain. A very pleasant afternoon... More

We visited the tea garden whilst visiting the memorial. The children were very taken with the play area containing a shady jungle gym, sandpit and some very cute tables and chairs. The outside downstairs area has a lovely feel to it with sweeping views over Cape Town. The service could be improved but the cake was lovely. (huge pieces, baked... More

Our lunch reservation was made via email and was better than expected, which is always a bonus. It was a family lunch so grandparents and children were involved. The adult portions were well-sized. My husband's beef pinotage pot was dry but all other meals were very good. Craft beer and gluhwein was a nice surprise. If you like dessert, the... More

Visited this weekend after not having been there for years. It was very disappointing. Had coffee and scones which were overpriced at R32, though I thought the menu had said 25, but didn't want to create a fuss around friends. The jam wasn't even homemade. Must be the most expensive scone I've had ever. But the worst was the sewage... More

I was glad to see there is a kids play area now. This used to be a little "tea and scones" place, but it now serves quite fancy lunches. Still reasonably priced for toasted sandwiches, but some of the larger dishes seemed too expensive. Awesome views and venue. Will be back.
