Description: Steeped in over 300 years of history, the former guard house, tea room...
Steeped in over 300 years of history, the former guard house, tea room, hotel and the hunting lodge of Lord Charles Somerset has been elegantly restored with the charm and sophistication of the Grand Old Cape. The style of cuisine at The Roundhouse is uncomplicated, contemporary French, inspired by seasonal ingredients and paired with one of the finest boutique wine collections in South Africa. South African born, PJ Vadas combines his worldly culinary skills with influences from the Cape to create an exquisite four course menu.

I have eaten at the Roundhouse for many years and I have to say the chef they have now is producing the best food I have eaten at the Roundhouse. His fine balance of textures and flavors produce amazing We ate from the normal menu which without wine pairing is R695 but they also have a very good winter special... More

Our hotel in Cape Town booked us up for dinner at this restaurant on the second night in the city. It was by far the best restaurant we've been to for fine dining. It was incredible. The service was exceptional and at times almost overwhelming how they would think of everything before you would even have the slightest clue of... More

A beautiful mountain side location with wonderful views, this was our first Cape Town dining experience. The menus were customized for my wife and me (I must have mentioned to our hotel concierge than I didn't eat fish and my wife didn't eat red meats). The wait staff was professionally friendly, helpful, and efficient. The decor is excellent, the tables... More

Ate her with 3 friends for a celebration dinner. It was quite formal and a very quiet restaurant. The entrance way was cobble stone and it appeared old. It was evening (dark) so there was no view. The menu is fixed price with several courses. We had called ahead and asked if they would allow us to bring a special... More

Dining here is a lovely experience. This is elegant, formal fine dining at its best. The food is delicious. The service is first rate. Most of the staff is from Zimbabwe and they perform brilliantly. There is an extensive wine list. The views from its location high up a mountain in Camps Bay is stunning. In fact, many weddings are... More

This was the first restaurant my wife and I went to in Cape Town. I had made reservations in advance and requested the room with the view. Upon arrival the restaurant did not have our reservation. At that moment I was a little concerned that this could end up being a bad experience. Fortunately for us it was far from... More

Had a very pleasant lunch on the terrace high up overlooking Camps Bay and Bakoven. Location is on its own on the hillside , not in easy walking distance of the main hotel areas. Friendly Zimbabwean manager Good food large portions. Had the Hummus pot and Caesar salad both very good

My husband and I went here on our first night in Cape Town. When we arrived, we were blown away with the service. The menus had our names on them with a congratulations message as we were on our honeymoon. The food was delicious. we were very appreciative that they tailored the prefixed menu to our liking as I am... More

Unlike the reviews below, I am happy with the experience I got. The views of the Twelve Apostles mountain and Camps Bay were stunning. I had a huge Bianco pizza (no tomato base) which took me some time to finish. It was so delicious. I never felt rushed. Booking via phone was easy. I would not recommend booking online as... More
