Fun, local and good food all in one.

We wanted to go to a restaurant in the Bo Kaap area before we left Capetown. There are several to choose from. We ended up going to Marcos'. The decor is wonderful - the service and food were very good, and the entertainment was a lot of fun to listen to a watch. I'm glad we didn't miss this... read more

Definitely our favorite restaurant in Cape Town! The atmosphere is absolutely unbeatable. The music and dancing is excellent and so much fun to watch, but without being too overpowering or intrusive (you can watch/listen while still being able to hold a conversation!). The food is great and has a wide variety of dishes-- think everything from the infamous smileys (boiled... More

In addition to mediocre food, we were overcharged by R80 for vegetables. When querying this with the manager there was absolutely no admission or valuable discussion about this. In a city with many awesome options - rather give this place a skip.

Food was good. Staff friendly and helpful explaining what food is what. Music and dancing entertaining. This is not the place for a romantic meal as the live African music is playing most of the night. Weird seeing my husband Eat most of the animals we saw on safari! I'm a vegetarian and there was plenty for me to eat.

This is place for both locals & tourists. Comfortably multi-racial. This is the restaurant to visit for a wonderfully South African atmosphere. There was a 5 piece band & an excellent & entertaining singer. She had at least half of the patrons swaying with the music. Lots of female patrons & a few men got up to dance & everyone... More

It's hard to give this place a fair rating, as it is 'over the top' in a way that appeals to some folk, but not to others (me, for example!). The restaurant is in an unattractive corner of town and little effort has been placed on its décor, ambience or lighting. The menu is full of exotic (for a European)... More

Great fun. You're going predominantly for the vibe rather than the food. Two out of the three bands on the night we were there were top notch. It was New Year's Eve, the place was packed, it was really great, laid back fun. Staff were really friendly - and promptly helpful while staying in with the laid back attitude that... More
