Best food and service in Cape Town!

BB is the best! The service is phenomenal. I've been there 3 times and had 2 different waiters, and each time the service has been great. Everyone from the wait staff to the manager to the chef himself is highly attentive. The waiters are great at offering suggestions for food, and they are so... read more

Decided to try the Bombay Brasserie on our last night in Cape Town, after reading recommendations from Trip Advisor & Lonely Planet. From the time of our arrival the service was impeccable and staff were friendly. The food was excellent. To ensure you get to enjoy this lovely little restaurant book ahead as we watched many hungry people become disappointed... More

I love Indian and I've been lucky to have the opportunity to eat at some of the finest Indian restaurants in NYC, including the two that have been awarded Michelin stars. I also got the chance to eat at Gaggan, which--even though it's in Bangkok--was rated the #1 Indian restaurant in the world by San Pellegrino. I can say without... More

The Bombay Brasserie is in the fabulous Taj Hotel, a truly beautiful and stately building - (old Reserve Bank Building). The restaurant itself is elegantly furnished, comfortable. The service is a cut above even the best in Cape Town. Even the chef comes forward to welcome his guests and discuss the meal they have eaten. They have got it right... More

We had been traveling all night and were tired and hungry by the time we had dinner. The Taj suggested we try their Indian restaurant. We were so happy we did. The food was excellent. The portions were not huge, but everything we had was just right

I was so sure we would have a fantastic meal at this highly recommended Indian, how wrong I was. We all ordered different dishes and all three of us were extremely disappointed. Chicken was barely cooked, food was bland and tasteless and there wasn't any indian spices or flavours. If this place is trying to go for Indian fine dining... More

I loathed my experience at Bombay Brasserie. Let me explain Decor is good, until you realize that their 2 seater tables are too long. So conversing with your friend across the table became uncomfortable as the fellow sitting at the adjacent table was closer to you than your friend was. The hosts and servers routine of checking up on you... More

This is classical Indian food turned sideways-- with an edge. The location is the Taj Hotel, downtown, an elegant, colonial style location which gives one the impression that the meal will be classical as well, but there is a whimsy to the dishes. The presentation is beautiful, and don't get alarmed when you see dishes whistling with " steam" that... More
