It feels like a Madama Zingara experience when one enters... Fascinating decor - bric-a-brac. Small space, crowded!! Slow but good service. Music too loud for conversation. I would not recommend this as a dinner spot in Cape Town, food was average. But the atmosphere...exhiliarting!

I had received great reviews about this place so the expectations were rather high. The bohemian ambiance makes you feel back to the flower power time. The service is prompt and forthcoming. The food was regrettably quite a disappointment although the signature dish ‘steak with chocolate & chili’ was not bad at all. Go there for the ambiance and for... More

My wife and I stayed in Cape Town and wanted to have dinner at the Bombay Bicycle Club. We had our hotel contact the restaurant to find out that it was fully booked but that they could place us on the waiting list. We had to show up at 19.30 and they expected to be able to seat us in... More

First off the place looked great! Thankfully we went for drinks only. I was waiting by the washroom, where the bus area is. There was a girl there scooping the dipping sauces whether they were used or not back into the buckets to reuse. My drink was great, but I will never eat there. If they are going that with... More

Had a good evening at Bombay for our first time, it's a wacky, beautiful place, with great atmosphere and energy. My fiancé and I had amazing food and enjoyed ourselves, the only thing we did not find impressive was the service. We found a lack of professionalism and a kind of chaotic style of service. We were not checked on... More

I went to the Bombay Bicycle Club several times for dinner and always loved it. I definitely recommend you make a reservation well in advance. The interior of this place is amazing, different tables and chairs, chairs hanging from the ceiling, dimmed light,... It's definitely a place for young people who want to have a different dinner experience than a... More

I attending BBC for a bachelorette dinner and it was my first time visiting this restaurant. Lovely decor and definitely fits in with the Madame Zingara theme I heard so much about. It was a Thursday evening and the place was PACKED! Very noisy and in my opinion probably very popular amongst the younger "hipster" crowd. I enjoy the atmosphere... More

This is a very hip, funky place - clientele is a mix of rastafarians and fashionistas - and the rest of us mixed in for good measure. The decor is unusual and conversation worthy-food is delicious and menu is adorable (a mini-folding number...) - highly recommended for a very cool experience. Not for the staid crowd, fun and once in... More
