This is small but lovely restaurant sitting on the street in the De Waterkant area of the beautiful Cape Town. The owners Len Straw and Johan De Villiers are active in the every day activities and it shows. I had the most delicious lemon and almond cake you could ever have. we also had the home made Bobotie made with... More

We were attracted by the charm of La Petite Tarte and just walked in while wandering around at De Waterkant. The decoration inside gives a homey feeling with the couch, the cabinets and bottles of preserves and jams on the shelves. We still preferred to sit outside which was great for people-waching and enjoying the lovely weather as it was.... More

We had breakfast here. The menu is limited but the quiche is very good. We got a piece of carrot cake to take home and it was excellent.

Great restaurant, excellent food and service. Wonderful hosts, good value as well! I will always go back, Johan and Len have mastered the art of good food! Please try the sublime chicken pie or the smoked chicken and pear quiche. I can eat with them every day, and as I said its good value! Frans

This small bakery, located near the Cape Quarters in the Waterkant serves some really great pies. We went for lunch and were really happy with the food and presentation.

The staff and management go out of their way to offer a great discreet service.the menu covers all pallets and the surprising thing is the value for money ! You are sat in beautiful surroundings ,with beautiful food in a beautiful city and less than R100 a main course. The only downside is the fact the staff and management insist... More

When la Petite Tarte opened as a minute little bistro with about 5 tables inside and two precariously balanced tables on the steep incline and cobbled pavement it shouted “Paris!” and "petit chic" The original young French owner Jessica produced a limited selection of small typically French tartlets, good tea blends and good coffee. It was an instant hit. She... More

Delicious Aubergine couscous dish, and light salmon salad with tasty dressing. Lovely attention to detail and old school china. Tiny tables, certainly cosy. Yummy carrot cake with icing that is not too sour not too sweet just perfect. Table clothes are a bit busy but all in all is quite the lovely spot for a cup of tea. And cheese... More
