Sunday late-morning. The outside area facing the street contains a few tables. It is separated from the inside by a security gate, which was firmly closed when I arrived. Apart from two outside tables which were occupied, there was no sign of life. I stood around waiting. I then asked a couple if there was some magic formula to get... More

Shelley's is in a wonderful little house on busy Kloof Street. Went there a number of times for breakfast - both on business and as a tourist. Nicely decorated rooms (although very much catering for the taste of one gender...), interesting choices on the menu and reasonable prices. Breakfast options are good, but the stuff is heavy. Lots of cream,... More

a lovely eatery in the buzzing Kloof Street. I had a good burger. Everything was fresh and tasty. Had a nice chat to the owner who was very helpful and friendly. Nice!

Once in a while, we behave like tourists and on this occasion, strolled along Kloof Street till we found a place that stood out. It so happened that Shelley's stood out on a balmy evening, possibly because the pink-and-white decor proved irresistible to Tracy. Oddly, we were the only guests but it mattered not as we indulged in some people-watching... More

January 2014. We just had lunch at Shelley's and the experience is unique. A world in itself. The place is filled with wonderfully kitsch and camp small decorations everywhere possible… it is soooo charming. People are smiling. The hostess is a beautiful person and the food (mostly exotic salads and hamburgers) stands out the ordinary. Absolutely and highly recommended for... More

Visited Shelley's again for both breakfast and lunch, and it was excellent on both occasions. The food is great, and the decor, both inside and out, is fantastically eye catching and quirky. I just love the location, on the upper part of Kloof Street with mesmerising views of Table Mountain.

The food was very good, the ice coffee was delicious. A great view of Table Mountain from the "front porch"

Been before to Shelley's for a birthday party where it was a buffet dinner, and we were very impressed. We have heard friends rave about their burgers, and decided to go for lunch today. My partner and I are both very picky when it comes to burgers. Burgers in Cape Town are so often made with inferior meat, over cooked... More

My wife and I stumbled upon this restaurant late one afternoon whilst walking back to our hotel after conquering the Lions Head . We had a look at the menu and after a freshen up we returned early evening. The menu though not extensive gave a varied choice. We had a pasta dish and a Thai green curry a lovely bottle... More
