We were suckered in to buying a recommended wine by a fast talking maître d'. Our fault I suppose as we did not ask for a wine list. Only when we got the bill did we see that our wine which was described as an "easy drinking South African red " had cost us R465. The food is indifferent and... More

I went over for their pizza and pasta special. It was just a different type of pizza, absolutely fresh. Great service, friendly and motivated to work. I have been back 3 times already, i just can't resist.

I've been in this restaurant with my italian collegues. The service was awesome and the food was grand. In my working past experience i've been working in the italian hospitality and i must say the quality of this place is not, at all, different from Italy. I've tried everything, from pasta and pizza to arrosto di pesce misto, and i... More

Friendly and helpful waiter and staff . Nice wine list with good prices . Food was very average , I love Italian food, but for that price , you can have better quality somewhere else in Cape Town . But like so many places on the Waterfront , they rely on tourists and as local you feel a little robbed... More

During a week long stay in Cape Town, staying at the Table Bay Hotel (see my review) I tried a multitude of places for my evening meal. As I am a bit picky (because I work in the hotel and restaurant business) I am delighted to say that Meloncino ticked all the boxes. Located on the upper deck of the... More

We walked throughout V&A simply looking for a place to eat and ended up at Meloncino, and ended up having a great experience! From the warm reception to the great option of wine, not forgetting the awesome taste of our dinner and dessert (pannacota, best one in many years), and our kind waiter, we couldn't have had a better time!... We visited Cape Town for the first time and stayed in the Waterfront. This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend. My family and I had a great time. The food was great; the service was friendly and very professional.

I travel a lot for work and typically my clients bring me to Italian restaurants. you can image that for me, Italian, to have lunch or dinner in Italian restaurant outside Italy is not the best...... So, I would like to suggest you this restaurant because the flavour are really close and perfect balance like in Italy. You can ask... More
