I remember going to the Fireman's 30 years ago as a regular lunch haunt around the corner from work. I went recently to watch a World Cup semi. The place is better than ever. It used to be a little on the low-life side. It is now clean, spacious and really feels like a neighborhood pub, albeit a little bigger.... More

Normally I want to visit a place at least twice before reviewing it, at least in my residential 'neighborhood'. Fantastic food, lunch this time. Good selection of beers on tap and service is top notch! Can imagine the venue is awesome for sports with their setting outsiden

I've been going there over the years and the standard remians consistantly good. My favourite foods are the crispy battered fish and chips, liver and onion with mash and the pizzas from the wood fired oven are excellent (believe the tripe is fab too - but not my bag so haven't tried it). Staff are are attentive and smart (especially... More

This pub was directly on my path walking back to the Hilton. I stopped here several nights, having a few beers and chicken wings to end my day. Staff was personable, accommodating, and helpful. So much so, it was the main reason I returned. They also had free wifi, which allowed me to send out photos of my day to... More

not a fan of pub type setups, but went after my partner absolutely raved about it. i've been converted to the pub experience. excellent food (best onion rings in town and good quality pizza), super friendly and super fast service, clean and - my number 1 must have in any dining establishment - napkins not paper serviettes.

If you want a proper pub with a good mixture of regulars and tourists this is the place to go. Good service and good beers and the food is pretty good as well.

Whenever we go to Cape Town, the Firemans Arms is one of our first stops! We love the atmosphere. They have sport on television screens, they are always attentive and helpful, and serve some very nice meals. They do good Pizza in a proper oven, pies, sausages, calamari, and also some traditional South African meals like Tripe Curry, Bobotie, and Eisbien. If... More

Its a pub, not much more to say really. The food is normal pub grub and the location is not too great being on the main road. Always seems to have a good atmosphere though.

Firemans is 150 years old this year – so it's a very old pub in Cape Town! It's laid back and unpretentious and serves really good pizzas and burgers and a good range of other well prepared food. There's also a wide range of beer on draught which is unusual. Thursday nights are our favourite when we go to take... More
