Waitering staff were great so were the starters but the mains were the worst ever. All the table had the same steaks which were so over cooked and tough, even the table behind us sent their steak back. The front of house person was so rude about it, he insisted the steaks were cooked properly and then threw the menus... More

Whether one is in India, Thailand or anywhere else in the world, crowded restaurants indicate a thumbs up from the locals by serving up great food at a good price. December in Cape Town is peak season, chock a block with tourists and locals on holiday, and free tables at the best restaurants are hard to come by without booking... More

Ever since I can remember my family and I have been fond of Societi Bistro. Kamil who handles reservations has a can-do attitude and will ensure that everyone gets a reservation at Societi Bistro. Lali (the front of house manager) has a wonderful smile, shes extremely helpful and welcomes you with a smile and has you laughing out the front... More

We had an absolutely wonderful evening at Societi thanks to the fabulous Karl (? or Carl?) who was extremely attentive, friendly and helpful throughout the evening. The service offered was absolutely superb - our glasses were never empty and empty dishes were whipped away promptly. We were offered cocktails on arrival, which we gladly accepted and were delicious, and sorbets... More

We stay at Societi's for a romatic dinner and we experienced the best service that one could wish for. The garden/terasse itself is nice and quite although it is located near a street. The food is excellent and tasteful. The menu is a joinventure of European and Adrican dishes. Highly recommended and we definitely come back.

Lovely decor, mostly pleasant staff, a nice bar area and some good outdoor tables. The food was nice enough, though they are not madly accommodating about switching a few ingredients for a vegetarian which in the modern world most places gladly and easily do. Very nice place and I do recommend it, just slightly below the exemplary places I have... More

We were in Cape Town late winter when evenings were chilly and a brisk walk to the the restaurant from our B&B left you craving the fireplace and comfort food! We were not disappointed and struggled to select entrees, so did as we often do - select very different things and sample from each other! Service was attentive and pleasant... More

Meal with friends and one of their favourite places. Food and ambience is lovely and would recommend a visit. The only downside was the very smoky environment which was a bit overpowering at first - wood burning type of smokey smell. Unfortunately my clothes and hair smelled very very smokey when I got back to the accommodation - and smelled... More

Delicious food, great atmosphere, excellent service, nice wine list, can be quite busy so go earlier unless you don't mind the crowds, but it's that good and that popular and well worth it!

Very pretty entrance with many tables, enchanting at night. Two lovely fireplaces warming the rooms in the chilly autumn and winter time. Good service, excellent choice of food and very good wine list. Does a mean pasta on a Monday night with Labia cinema tickets for 90 rand for two. All in all, lovely restaurant.
