I'd been meaning go to try this estblisment for years! I'll start by saying that it's not in the best location in CT, in a converted house with multi levels and rooms, certainly not suitable for the Disabled! The welcome received from the pompous wine waiter was probably the worst I've ever received, and this was because we had taken... More

Have visited Aubergine on several previous visits to Cape Town - and indeed have largely enjoyed the experience. On this occasion the menu was difficult to choose from - not the restaurant's fault - but I ended up having tomato and burrata to start which was extraordinarily tasteless and presentation was perfunctory. Nevermind - better luck with main course -... More

We cut short our evening at Aubergine after the main course. having visited Cape Town every year for the last twenty years this was the worst fine dining experience we have encountered. The demeanour of the man who greeted us on arrival was less than welcoming, We later found out that he was in fact the manager. We were given... More

What a fabulous night out. From the moment we arrived until we were the last to leave, and never once rushed, this was an evening of pure pleasure. The service is friendly yet highly professional and knowledgeable. The sommelier was welcoming of our less than expert questioning and delivered some excellent wines,. Then there is the food... Delicately and beautifully... More

We went to Aubergine for Valentines dinner last month. Aubergine is a little place tucked away in a little known corner of Cape Town and has been consistently excellent for year. It's probably my 10 or 15th visit and I've yet to be disappointed. It's a bit in the smart and formal side but really lovely and very discreet. The... More

We'd been recommended to try Aubergine on a previous trip to Western Cape; it didn't disappoint. It was a hot lunchtime, so we dined alfresco with a dripping tablecloth on Table Mountain right behind us. Wild oysters with bubbles were followed by more seafood paired with a chenin, and then the most gorgeous kudu main course - paired with a... More

i have been a guest at dinner a few times at this restaurant over the years and have always enjoyed the food. I was treated again and found the meal of the same high standard. The starter of tuna tatami and tartare was pretty and a double treat as it was both delicious and healthy. The pigeon breast was perfectly... More

What a lovely little gem of a restaurant. Delicate touch with lots of flavour. Dishes have such pretty presentations that you wonder if they could taste as good as they look - but yes - delicious tuna, veal and wonderful, wonderful vegetables which add so much to the dishes. FABULOUS wine list. Great knowledgeable staff. A real treat.
