I'm obsessed with good prawns and I have never had prawns this good. You walk to a large cooler to pick from freshly caught large prawns and fish. They butterfly them, add a little spice, and grill them. Absolutely divine. The sushi is pretty good as well. Great ambiance and a nice location near to the beach in Camp's Bay.... More

Tucked away just behind the busy beach front street of Campsbay, this restaurant offers excellent seafood and a very unique dining experience. The restaurant has no menu, instead your waiter will take you to the fish and seafood counter to explain all the fish to you, you make your selection and pay by weight. We were lucky enough to get... The fresh seafood and sushi here was amazing. We loved the sushi conveyor belt presentation. Choosing your own fish variety and weight was fun. The food was delicious. Our waitress was just okay. She was clearly annoyed at having to answer our questions and explain the unique procedures of this restaurant. We couldn't completely hear her over the noise and... More

My wife and I ate at the Codfather in early Feb. The atmosphere was great with a real buzz about the place. We had a drink at the bar while waiting for our table and it was nice to soak up the atmosphere. Our waitress then showed us to our table then talked us through the options available. This is... This restaurant had been recommended to us so we were expecting a good meal and we were not disappointed. From the outside it does not look much tucked away from the main drag in a side street of Camps Bay, but one as they say 'never judge a book by its cover' - once you get inside and taste the... More

Great concept and beautiful restaurant. Pick out and order your own fresh fish. They have an assortment of freshly caught and cut seafood; including Tiger Prawns, Rock Lobster, Tuna, Monk Fish, etc. The staff are friendly and helpful and the fish to die for. Want a wine to pair with the fish, they have an extensive list and knowledgeable staff... More

The concept took a little getting used to: Walk to the counter, choose your seafood (raw), have it weighed, choose your sides and go back to your table to await a delicious seafood meal. If oysters are available - ORDER them! Fresh, succulent and perfect with a splash of lemon and tobasco. So good we wiped out their supply. Hint:... More

Nestled behind the main road in camps bay...Codfather is a local's favorite for lunch or dinner. I went with my brother who goes weekly and ordered the fresh line fish...kabeljou or kingklip are my favorites. Brother is local and loves their sushi but I am spoiled living in USA and don't like the sushi as much! The food is however... More

I went to this place after reading great reviews but I didn't like the food that much, I have had better seafood in Barcelona. In addition to not having a view, haven't tried the sushi though. I am disappointed!

Busy restaurant great atmosphere and the best seafood I had in South Africa. Last time I had prawns this big was in the hawkers market in Singapore. Totally relaxed atmosphere with great service but don't expect fine dining just really fresh seafood.
