Having been in the UK for two months, my wife and I returned home to Cape Town badly in need of a fish "fix". For us there was only one place to go - the Codfather, where we have been locals for the past 10 years. There are a number of reasons why this is our favourite seafood restaurant: it... More

We visited the Codfather in 2009 during our last trip to South Africa. We didn't get the best out of that visit because we didn't know the way it works. There is no menu as such. Your waiter will talk you through the options and go with you to the displays of fish and shellfish to help you choose what... More

But we were put st ease very quickly by the staff everything explained in our time. Food was excellent and very good value. If you like fish... More

We couldn't fault this excellent fish restaurant. Great value and super freshly caught fish. You can approach counter and chose cuts of fish yourself. Great idea!

Second visit within 2 years. The selection of fish was good with some nice butter fish and Dorado. However, the fish display didn't seem as appetising as our previous visit and it seemed to have lost some of its charm. Still worth a visit for a good selection of fish.

Friendly staff accompanies one to a large cool show case where they display their abundance of fresh fish offer. Including Lobsters etc. Its up to you as a guest to choose and pick from the offer. One can eat as many fish in what kind of variety to one's liking. The will cut the fish up to your wishes before... More

Although extremely loud, our party of four enjoyedour evening of calamari, salad and sushi appetizers, king and spotted prawn and lagostinas, as well as tuna and a bottle of wine for $100 US - quite reasonable in our eyes. Once you chose your main meal of seafood the waiter prints the market price stickers and asks if that is acceptable.... More

Fresh fish. No menu. You go to the counter and select exactly which pieces of fish and seafood you would like. It;s cooked and brought to you with a selection of sauces and your choice of sides. And i can recommend a dessert of Malva pudding. A sweet local pudding like a treacle pudding, but Codfather's was the best we... More

My partner and I loved this place that we went twice during our 10 day stay in camps bay! Staff are knowledgeable about the food they serve and the platters of seafood are cooked to perfection! A must visit!
