Might be the first Singaporean around here. So this place deserves a mighty review. I stumbled onto the Thursday special - thin crusted pizza for like R30? That's way too epic. They do pretty good coffee too. And comes with free WiFi too. Highly recommend this place for any international foreigner enroute to the Sani Pass.

Had lunch there after the Sani Stagger. The food was good fare for what I expected; the equivalent of fast food chain. The seating area is very large and impersonal, definitely no ambiance, but then again I was not expecting it either. Although I initially associated it with a coffee shop, the machine was broken and none was available. Would... More

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We really appreciate it. I would like to apologise for the fact that you were unable to have a coffee, as our coffee really is the best (I think) in town. Unfortunately the water supply to Underberg had been interrupted for the day and only came back on after 2pm.... More

The food is delicious. I had the mushroom burger which was packed with flavour in every bite, including the bun which is toasted to perfection. Dessert was the home-made strawberry cheesecake which was sublime. Excellent service was just the cherry on top.

If hungry and with lots of people or family , just go to the Grind. Excellent value for money. When in the berg, one of my places for a good pizza.

Food is priced higher than average, portions are small and tasteless, waiters also walked past us many times and didn't pay much attention to us, Pizza was watery and was stuck to the bottom of the take away box.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I must, however, object, with respect, to your comments. I'm not sure what average you are comparing us to, but compared to the other restaurants in the area we are very competitively priced and our portions are quite generous. If you are comparing us to KFC or Nando's, then, yes,... More

The first and second time I visited The Grind Café 15 months ago, at the previous premises just down the road, I had a great experience with friendly, efficient staff and tasty food. I visited them today at the new premises and firstly I noticed a lacking atmosphere. The new floor space is huge and looks barren in a way,... More

My sincere apologies for your bad experience at The Grind Cafè. The waitron who served you had only been hired a few days previously and clearly had not learned the menu and perhaps has not had adequate training. I agree with you that the tramezzini did look terrible and unappetising and it, along with the breakfast, was certainly not anywhere... More

We have been regulars at The Grind Cafe over the years and have always enjoyed their 'Duma' pizzas and home made Canneloni as well as Illy coffee - the best in town! However we were totally bowled over when Lucas, a waiter who has been with the Grind all through various owners and changes, insisted on paying for our last... More

Fantastic food experience. Spanish Fiesta, Trout Fish (too bony though), Tramizini (brilliant) and open faced sandwich. Its a pity that they didnt offer pizzas at 11am. Hazelnut Latte is a must try. Space for kids to play.

I noticed that everybody who had visited Underberg had been for lunch at Grind Cafe' so we had to go. I enjoyed a lovely pizza and super-cold draught beer. Warm atmosphere inside or tables outside in the shade or sun. Well worth a visit.
