Better than Lemon Tree

Burgers were good and chips delicious. All day breakfast was a hit and the coffee was on form for the middle of nowhere. Thumbs up from me.

Going cafe is situated in the only active shopping mall layout in town. It's just off the main road and entrance to the mall requires some bundubashing through some rough terrain due to potholes. Once there, the better atmosphere is outside as inside is like a warehouse. The service was average and the coffee, considering it is Illy, was bad.... More

Thank you for taking the time to submit your review, we really appreciate it. I would like to apologize for the coffee you were served! I have recently employed a new staff member who is still learning the fine art of making a good coffee and he is getting better everyday. I have spoken to all my staff members regarding... More

I give lots of 4 and 5 star ratings but struggle with more than 3.5 for this breakfast (the TripAdvisor app does not enable half stars... Situated in a small village style shopping cluster, a camping equipment and Sani Pass tours shop was open and the others closed (Easter Sunday). Egg Vegetable Frittata was very good in fact but the... More

Unfortunately this restaurant is not as good as it used to be. Their current location is in a building that used to be a clothing chain store. The decor is non existent and reminds one of a boarding school dining room. The Thursday night special pizza is dreadful and the worst pizza I have eaten in a long time. Service... More

I apologize for your bad experience at The Grind Cafè. The reason for us moving into the larger premises is that, as we are one of the most popular restaurants in the area, we had outgrown the small premises of the previous store and had to expand. I am sorry that you do not find our décor appealing, I am... More

We had a very pleasant stay in Underburg and the surrounding areas. The Grind Cafe was recommended to us by some of the locals. The pizza was so good that we went back for dinner. We had to wait a little while which was fine on a busy Friday night. All the dishes we tried were tasty home style dishes.... More

Might be the first Singaporean around here. So this place deserves a mighty review. I stumbled onto the Thursday special - thin crusted pizza for like R30? That's way too epic. They do pretty good coffee too. And comes with free WiFi too. Highly recommend this place for any international foreigner enroute to the Sani Pass.

Had lunch there after the Sani Stagger. The food was good fare for what I expected; the equivalent of fast food chain. The seating area is very large and impersonal, definitely no ambiance, but then again I was not expecting it either. Although I initially associated it with a coffee shop, the machine was broken and none was available. Would... More

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We really appreciate it. I would like to apologise for the fact that you were unable to have a coffee, as our coffee really is the best (I think) in town. Unfortunately the water supply to Underberg had been interrupted for the day and only came back on after 2pm.... More

The food is delicious. I had the mushroom burger which was packed with flavour in every bite, including the bun which is toasted to perfection. Dessert was the home-made strawberry cheesecake which was sublime. Excellent service was just the cherry on top.

If hungry and with lots of people or family , just go to the Grind. Excellent value for money. When in the berg, one of my places for a good pizza.
