Worth a visit

We are new to Durban. WHat a surprise. The food was excellent, and the service as well. Matt served us, and he was extraordinary. I will easily visit there again.

After all the hype surrounding this restaurant, a group of friends finally made the mission to test out what we've heard about this establishment.Totally underwhelming is probably the most apt description, from the setting in a parking lot to the food that was good but no flavours really stood out. Glad we tried, but don't think we will be back.

Must be one of the best restaurants in Durban. Seriously good food, excellent service and good ambience. What more could one ask for. Just go, but probably good to book since the place was packed out.

I have very little to say other than this is my favourite restaurant in Durban. The food, the service, the wine.... everything will leave you feeling treated! Bit on the pricey side, but personally, well worth every cent. In Cape Town you would pay double for a restaurant of this quality.

Another excellent meal here. Everything dealt with professionally and with a can-do attitude from the time I made the booking . Outstanding wine list and slick unobtrusive service. I think we were welcomed by the co-owner and she was ever so friendly and hospitable ensuring that everything went smoothly. Had the prawns for the main- highly recommended! I always visit... More

9th Avenue Bistro is a favourite for special occasions. There service and food has been consistently good year after year. A favourite is their roasted butternut ravioli as a starter and the fillet with chips prepared in duck fat for mains. For dessert, the chocolate torte is always delicious - not overly sweet and perfect to round off your meal.... More

Close to Yoops- easy to get there. Safe parking. Interesting dishes- good waitress staff. No excessive amounts spent on interior decorating. Nice veranda as an option. They have duck, seafood, risotto - most of what you would want to eat- just with a new take on it.

Celebrated my fiancé's birthday this past Thursday and the food and especially the service were brilliant. Our hostess and waitress were amazing and the food was devine - definitely have to go back soon just to try the other items on the menu. And as a special token - the birthday fudge present that my fiancé received was a real... More

The food and service never disappoints! I have yet to be disappointed and I look forward to seeing what specials they have "cooked" up to tempt my palate! The service is excellent, well beyond what we have grown used to in South African restaurants! The menu is different and eclectic mixing traditional and unexpected perfectly! Total attention to detail from... More

Haven't been here in a year or so, many people would be put off as it is in an obscure location.. But the wine, food and service all ten out of ten. Definitely one of the top 3 restaurants in Durban, will not disappoint.
