My worst experience at a restaurant.

I was advised that ownership of Oscar's at Essenwood Rd Durban was changed and decided to give it a try. I found out that Groupon is promoting them with a carvery mill on Sundays. We made reservation for lunch. We ordered our drinks and waited for the meal. We were asked if we want beef or chicken... read more

My boyfriend had previously been to oscars and recommended that we must go but due to the change of management the place is dreadful. We had a seafood platter for 2 everything was over fried old and horrid. We didn't even attempt to finish any of the food.its very poorly managed. Our waiter was pleasant and nice. But everything else... More

As a returning customer to Oscars under new management I expected something new and different. Visiting with my brother for Sunday lunch I did find something new and different. Shocking levels of ambivalence regarding customers from staff and management. After arriving and sitting on the terrace we were completely ignored by the waitron for twenty minutes. Our table was filthy... More

I usually frequent the Oscars in Hillcrest, which is far superior to the Musgrave branch. I went there on a trip to the Essenwood flea market about a month ago and have to say I was very disappointed. The food was not up to scratch and the service was slow. Lets hope the new owners can do some damage control... More

Oscars Essenwood road is under new ownership and has one of the best lamb shanks i have ever had. Great portions and value for money . Especially the drinks! Great atmosphere and are really accomodating! Really recommend this place for people to go and have a try.

I am very pleased to report that Oscars has been sold to new owners after a disastrous period under the recently departed ones. I have a five star Guest House close by and stopped sending my guests to Oscars within a few months of the recent owners taking over as we had TWO occasions when our guests had to go... More

We own a Guest House close to Osca's and have been sending guests there for ten years. The original owner sold, a Portugese took over, still very good, but now sold again. 4 of our guests had dinner there two weeks ago, told me the fish was bad and they paid and left. I thought this was maybe a "one... More
