We had our wine club at Market in Mariott Road last night. My parents had gone there for dinner the previous Friday, and discussed the concept with the manager, who confirmed that everything would be all right. They even discussed the number of bottles of wine he'd bring, as well as the corkage Dad would pay. We were all seated... More

We enjoyed a tasty lunch under the trees in this hidden courtyard in Durban. I had the lamb burger with was a little dry but tasty, portions are very generous. Friends had the quinoa salad which was also tasty. Advisable not to sit under the trees on a breezy day as you get generous showering s of leaves in your... More

The Market is tucked away in suburbia, off the touristy beaten track. The menu has a little something for everyone including a very good (if pricy) wine list and an excellent selection of craft beers. The food was delicious and despite the service being slow, the wait staff was charming and well-versed in the menu. Have the soufflé, it is... More

I went to Market with a group and was looking forward to dinner as I had heard raving reviews about the place, plus it is also high up there in ratings on tripadvisor. The waiter we had was very friendly and funny and that was a plus. Otherwise the food tasted average. My mashed potatoes were heavy on butter and... More

I loved the setup and vibe of this restaurant, excellent for our Durban summers and reminded me so much of a little place I once went to in Venice. The menu is small but caters for most tastes. Food is well prepared and presented. The prices are upmarket prices, but the food is guaranteed to be fresh and flavoursome. It’s... More

I have visited this restaurant on a regular basis of the past years and it has always delivered on its promises. The menu is unusual but there is something for everyone's taste. I love the ambiance! The fresh press juices are the best in town.

Had a really enjoyable meal at this restaurant, the kudu I had was a really good size and most importantly it was perfectly cooked. The bread and butter pudding was also excellent and even though the wine was a bit on the expensive side, the pinotage we chose was really good too. When we are next in Durban, we will... More

I have eaten at Market twice in the last few weeks. Their corn fritter is really great. The service was slower when I was there yesterday. I think this depends on the waiter. The setting is lovely especially when the sun is shining.
