I use to love Buds on the Bay. The venue is so rough and dilapidated which creates the unique atmosphere it is so popular for. The atmosphere and great food make this an "adventure". However, the latest outing I had there today, 09 December 2014, was very disappointing. The food was below par, took extremely long to come out the... More

Being an ex Durbanite and now a Joburger, I tend to expect Durbs to shine when I bring other Joburgers to visit. The Food was great, as always. Superb prawn bunny and lovely chicken strips. Service (ha ha) was pretty much non existent. Good view with a general decent vibe. Jack up the service!

great location at the waters, good food, service was a little slow but the food was worth the wait. There was a fly problem when we were there, but more annoying that off putting. Enjoyed the prawn curry and lamb chops.

A group of 10 friends went for Lunch to Buds on the Bay, Friday 23rd May. I ordered a Sprite&Bitters, the waitress brought me Sprite Zero.I ordered a Chicken Enchilada,I can really say that, that must have been one of my worst plates of food that I have ever eaten in any restaurant so far. A friend of mine had... More

Nice atmosphere, but very expensive food for what you get. No real service, have to go to bar to order drinks and meals. Quite a drive to get there, so good value for money, and reasonable service should be a priority.

Tucked away on the wrong side of the tracks in the harbour, this wooden diner has a special charm. Shabby chic chicks, bikers and truckers mix with bankers and bigwigs. They are all drawn to the food. Bill Budd owns the renowned Prawn Shack at Amatikulu together with this gem, and his credentials go way back to the legendary Legends... More

No staff to take food orders or drinks. Have to walk to the bar to order drinks or food. Absolutely shocking service. Avoid.

We celebrated my Mum's 80th birthday at Buds in late afternoon. Not easy to find but it is a little gem. The food was good for the price but perhaps could do with a little more attention as calamari was tough but it didn't detract from a wonderful experience. I took a photo of my fillet mussel dish which was... More

Always love the relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Then last month they had Barry Thompson there!! What a delight to find our favourite singer and guitarist playing laid back mellow!!! Pity the MC tried to take over. Need more music and less clever talk!!!! Love the Zuklu Sushi and the Capress Salad. Delightful!
