This was one of the best eateries in Durban which unfortunately had to close because Transnet the landlord didnt renew their lease. My family had wonderful meals in this restaurant from late ninties till it closed down in October 2013. Thats was a bad decision for Transnet not to renew the lease as the location is one of the best... More

The city council owns the waterfront that this restaurant used to occupy, but they never renewed the lease so a perfectly good eatery had to close. They were fantastic. Now a sorry victim of the ineffective Durban City Council

Great views of the yacht mole. The food, particularly the langoustines were awesome. We shared seafood platters and it was a very generous portion. Good wine list. I will definitely return.

We drove by the restaurant 2 times before we decided to give it a shot and it was a mouth watering decision! From the moment we walked into the restaurant until we left the service was superb! The food was unbelievably good I had never eaten such good seafood in south africa and it tasted like it had been fished... More

Our server was Quinton who was awesome. He recommended the seafood platter which was perfectly cooked, a lot of food all of which was perfectly done. Crayfish were awesome. Desert was fabulous - one was a traditional pudding which was very tasty. View of the harbour was great. We had a great experience and would recommend Cafe Fish to others.

A more expensive spot to lunch, but worth it for the view of the yachts and the working harbour. My fish was perfectly fresh and perfectly cooked. The server had a bit of trouble with our (Canadian) accents when we asked about fish unfamiliar to us, but he did a good job of describing the fish. A great spot for... More

If catch of the day is what you are looking for, this is the place to go for some amazing fish. The food is simple - you'll get a choice of rice, salad, etc. but it's the simplicity you want when you are eating such amazing fish. Definitely worth a trip and make a reservation - it's ALWAYS busy.

Had lunch and dinner at this restaurant and the food was really good both times. You cannot get a better location to sit at, as you look over the harbor while have a drink or a bite. The only real problem you might have is the level of service you receive. When you spent a nice a rather nice mount... More

The food here was good, the service efficient, and the location on the Wharf very pleasant. We ate indoors as it had become quite chilly, but outside dining in better weather would have been good.
