The atmosphere and service were great. Wine prices were also reasonable. Unfortunately, the starters as well as main dishes were too salty to enjoy. If the salty ness could be drastically reduced then this place could come highly recommended

please see my post that had done earlier today, the problem was being told what time we could get a table and being there on time but having to wait another 45 min. food was good but over priced. not place to take friends for dinner rather business lunch/ dinner venue.

We (My girlfriend and I) came to DW eleven after all the hype and excellent reviews on TripAdvisor, and basically fell into the same pit. We had the degustation menu with wine pairing, I won't spoil anything as I do recommend going and trying it, the chef surprise (although a bit salty for my liking), pre-dessert as well as the... This was our first, and proved to be the best food, of a number of top South African restaurants that we visited on our trip. Do not be concerned about the location of DW in a shopping centre, I hesitated before booking but need not have. Once inside there is a great welcome and a lovely atmosphere. We opted for... More

I have heard about this restaurant for a while and because it is in Dunkeld, we only visited recently. The atmosphere and the service was good, but the food was really nice. I had the Foie Gras starter with the straw wine to pair, and my wife had the quail and langustine starter, and I had the lamb dish while... More

As a start...ignore the ridiculous expensive prices. Comprehensive wine list with some fantastic wines to complement an amazing menu. Had the oxtail wellington. What a treat. One can not explain the total experience in words...you have to experience it. Remember to keep some space for dessert.

Don't be put of by the fact that the restaurant is located at the back of a very old but very well known centre in Dunkeld. The location is in sharp contrast to what happens on the inside. The interior is beautiful and is suitable for either an intimate dinner or taking the family out for a great upmarket dining... More

Although chef Marthinus is known and lauded for his edgy, well thought through and very modern interpretations of dishes, there is a base line of warmth, family history and respect for food history and ingredients. This is a class act in sophisticated surroundings with superb service. Soul-satisfaction is the outcome.

Superb! ! from the appetizers, to the main course. We had the langostine& quail, crispy crayfish, foie gras with passion fruit jus, oxtail Wellington in red wine jus and the Porcini roasted fish, all the dishes were outstanding, balance and prepare to perfection. They offer you a matching wine with each dish which compliment it very well, being in Johannesburg we... More

Truly a must for any foodie. This restaurant is a benchmark of all things gastronomical and sets the high bar as far as a 5 star restaurant is concerned. The service is impeccable: you are in goods hands with the waiters, they are well presented and equipped with solid advice and knowledge of their menu. The wine list is impressive... More
