To make sure I was fair and restrained, I waited a week to write this review. This place was absolute rubbish. Lets start with the service. The first waiter to serve us was almost leering at me which made both myself and my colleague really uncomfortable. We ordered quite an expensive bottle of wine and it was not drinkable, maybe... Had dinner in the Piccolo Mondo restaurant. What a disaster. Food was tasteless and not very hot. Service was okay but not what one would expect from a five-star luxury hotel that is a member of leading hotels of the world. Our waiter did not seem very interested. Lobby toilets were not very clean and up to five-star standards. A... More

Too expensive, slow service and generally poor value for money. Certainly better options in Madiba Square or Sandton City

My wife and I are foodies. We really enjoy trying new restaurants and new menus. First impressions were good with friendly staff and an impressive venue. The menu was limited and there was little to suggest that this was an Italian or even Mediterranean restaurant. We ordered pea risotto and prawn ravioli with sweet corn for starters. The risotto was... More

Menu has little to do with good Italian food. Service OK but the whole experience doesn't live up to what this slightly posh restaurant tries to be. I usually avoid hotel restaurants: this being one of the better ones still no reason to change habits... If you're on the hotel other choices just outside are abundant.

Beautiful setting, from the waiting area with drinks and piano music to the restauant itself. Excellent menu, everything we ordered was tasty and beautifully presented. The staff are well trained and discreet enough to not interfere with a romantic date night!

Every course was superb. There must be a Michelin start chef in the kitchen. From the fresh tuna to the fillet steak, every bite was fantastic. The dessert even arrived in a cloud of dry ice!
