Good food, service is bad

Great atmosphere. Good food. Experienced bad service. Some waiters seem uneducated. Explained to the one waiter that I received no service. She just stared at me.

Great atmosphere and setting. A lot of attention to detail and a well thought out yummy menu. I had the pumpkin fritters with brie, bacon and cranberry, stacked in a tower of delight, very impressive plating for breakfast. My friend ordered the hot chocolate which came with steamed milk and artisan Belgian chocolate block on a stick, melting away as... More

My 88yr old mom and I arrived without a booking at 09h50 and enquired about a seating possibility. We were told that we would have to wait for a while. We were grateful for this prospect and agreed to wait.We finally got a table at 11h00, placed our orders by 11h10. That's when all service stopped and we were given... More

The eclectic ambiance and the unusual dishes, such a contrast from the norm. Most relaxing atmosphere and a place to add to your bucket list.

Stopped by here for some breakfast which was really great. Smaller menu which means they can focus on all dishes being great and not try and make hundreds of dishes poorly. Coffee selection is great, as you can choose origin, strength and any flavours. Service was a bit sloppy and slow which gets irritating when you want to get the... More

We went to lunch and although it was almost supper time, we could still order from the lunch menu. They had many specials for the evening, but I ordered their Silver Back beer. My companion had their home made lemonade which he liked a lot. The meat platter was an absolute delight. They served a variety of bread, all freshly... More

My niece recommended we come for breakfast for my birthday on the 3rd of January. She raved about the place especially because it had a 2nd hand bookshop adjoining the eatery. We checked the online menu and it looked good. The pumpkin fritters were especially interesting. We were a large party, 14 in all and were given a bug table... More

We went to karoo last month for a lunch. Was very noisy and no real supervision for the kids. Food was good and service a bit lacking. Had to ask for certain things more than once. Will try it again.

Besides their salad bar, and for years Spur had the same concept, their menu and ambience is very generic. Nothing to write home about.

Once again we had an enjoyable lunch at this interesting restaurant. The occasion was a kitchen tea for one of our colleagues. The menu is unique and varied. The food is tasty and good value for money. They also serve craft beer. The service is good, but perhaps a bit slow.
