We enjoyed lunch in the interesting farmhouse/warehouse setting. The service was good and the menu was not huge but definitely different. It is not a steakhouse as some previous reviewers seem to expect! The food is very well presented and my Salmon Bruschetta was really tasty and fresh. Many of the people in our group raved about the Pumpkin fritters.... More

Very quaint spot , with a "Karoo boere Afrikaans feel" but the cuisine is pretty much fusion. So the traditional lamb chops and "skilpadjies" will be there as well as some good curries, interesting bruchettas and great salads. They have the flavours spot on, their black rice side dish is amazing! Ambiance is cozy, with a lot of quirky detail.... More

This could be a bit like part of a Karoo farm home with a lot of arts and crafts to browse through before and after the meal. The food is genuine home style cuisine and tasty with fair variety - quite different from many common SA cafes. Its a great place to come for brunch. Could be a bit cool... More

Good and varied menu although limited. Great breakfasts, brunches, lunches and dinner in an outdoor "artistic" setting and environment. Good food at a reasonable price. Well worth a visit.

Yes, the service is not great, but we had a nice lunch by sharing a tasting plate. Do not remember anything else about the menu, having just come off a plane 6 hours earlier. The restaurant/cafe has a great atmosphere, and overlooks a very interesting home furnishings shop under the same roof. In the some complex there is also a... More

I was expecting a steak of the best quality only to be served a below average rump steak. The meat was tough and tasteless. The wine list is pathetic. All this at a very expensive price. Will not be going back ever.

The service is sometimes a little slow I've always had to wait before I get a menu? But overall the place is fabulous. Like being in the karoo. Love the bookshop and other little shops too.

Such a lovely interesting place & menu but very disappointing. Medium eggs were so hard as to be inedible, bacon was tough and the so called chakalaka was tasteless. The yoghurt berry compote was ok but berries being in season, I expected fresh, not jam like berries. The best I could say for the service was that it was inattentive.

We took our friends from Switzerland to Karoo Cafe for a meal - they loved it - that says it all! Good wholesome food, well prepared and presented. Their fruit-smoothies are divine. The friendly service is second to none - individual wishes are painstakingly fulfilled. The ambience is utterly unique and one can spend the extra leisure or shopping hour... More
