My niece recommended we come for breakfast for my birthday on the 3rd of January. She raved about the place especially because it had a 2nd hand bookshop adjoining the eatery. We checked the online menu and it looked good. The pumpkin fritters were especially interesting. We were a large party, 14 in all and were given a bug table... More

We went to karoo last month for a lunch. Was very noisy and no real supervision for the kids. Food was good and service a bit lacking. Had to ask for certain things more than once. Will try it again.

Besides their salad bar, and for years Spur had the same concept, their menu and ambience is very generic. Nothing to write home about.

Once again we had an enjoyable lunch at this interesting restaurant. The occasion was a kitchen tea for one of our colleagues. The menu is unique and varied. The food is tasty and good value for money. They also serve craft beer. The service is good, but perhaps a bit slow.

We enjoyed lunch in the interesting farmhouse/warehouse setting. The service was good and the menu was not huge but definitely different. It is not a steakhouse as some previous reviewers seem to expect! The food is very well presented and my Salmon Bruschetta was really tasty and fresh. Many of the people in our group raved about the Pumpkin fritters.... More

Very quaint spot , with a "Karoo boere Afrikaans feel" but the cuisine is pretty much fusion. So the traditional lamb chops and "skilpadjies" will be there as well as some good curries, interesting bruchettas and great salads. They have the flavours spot on, their black rice side dish is amazing! Ambiance is cozy, with a lot of quirky detail.... More

This could be a bit like part of a Karoo farm home with a lot of arts and crafts to browse through before and after the meal. The food is genuine home style cuisine and tasty with fair variety - quite different from many common SA cafes. Its a great place to come for brunch. Could be a bit cool... More

Good and varied menu although limited. Great breakfasts, brunches, lunches and dinner in an outdoor "artistic" setting and environment. Good food at a reasonable price. Well worth a visit.

Yes, the service is not great, but we had a nice lunch by sharing a tasting plate. Do not remember anything else about the menu, having just come off a plane 6 hours earlier. The restaurant/cafe has a great atmosphere, and overlooks a very interesting home furnishings shop under the same roof. In the some complex there is also a... More

I was expecting a steak of the best quality only to be served a below average rump steak. The meat was tough and tasteless. The wine list is pathetic. All this at a very expensive price. Will not be going back ever.
