Unlike many of the reviews on this site, I found Fumo very overpriced, unimpressive décor and lack-lustre service. It would be wrong to say all the food is bad as I decided to leave after the starter. It really wasn't worth spending the rest of the meal there. Sadly I probably wont return to prove myself wrong!

We visited Fumo for Valentines day this year. Having made a reservation and been looking forward to this dinner for a while, our expectations were a bit high, but the restaurant certainly did not meet any of them. Having arrived on time we were scooted off to our table ASAP, as it was Valentines and clearly they had a lot... More

I know I reviewed this restaurant before but it keeps on surprising me. Food is in general excellent, that's why I eat here at least once a week, but the other day the Chef suggested a black-ink ravioli with crab. I'm originally Italian and I've never heard of such a dish, so I tried it. Man... I don't know where... More

We had heard of Fumo and being lovers of Italian, made a booking for a weeknight family dinner. We found the service good and the wine list interesting, though somewhat pricey. We all selected pasta dishes, which did not disappoint and the crab and prawn seafood linguine was excellent! Also enjoyed that we were able to talk without noisy background... More

For fine dining a bit of basic décor and ambience not really in line with fine dining expectations, average actually and nothing in line with what I expected, nevertheless they had a fantastic selection of wines and the meal we had was fabulous. Really well prepared. Service was also very good, but all this comes at slightly higher prices than... More

Fumo is made out to be one of the top romantic restaurants in Pretoria. This is definitely not true. The atmosphere is OK, but the service and food is below par. Order a meat dish, and that is what you get. A piece of meat on the plate, no vegies, no salad, nothing. The pricing is very high. Typically quizine... More

Thanks to Claudio who keeps many if the classic/regional dishes true to there taste and preparation. Choices of good wine and grappa. Excellent quality of meat and fish. Risotto Saffron/Milanese the best in SA that we have tried so far. Overall worth a visit.

Invited guests to experience truly authentic Italian cuisine and atmosphere but what a disaster! Surrounded by three tables of very loud and rude men to such an extent that we could not even talk to each other. If that is the new type of clientele and management is not able to restrain them then maybe we should rather leave one... More

I fail to understand how this restaurant gets such high reviews when my girlfriend and her family and i a total of 6 people, had very poor standards of our food.Firstly her mother had what was supposed to be a signature italian dish and it had no flavour or taste and the food was dry.Her sister had more or less the...
