Incredible Dining Experience!

Wow we had a five star dining experience as not only was the food the best I have ever had, the service, the engagement, traditional French setting with a roaring fire too! We were offered champagne at the beginning of our meal and had not even told them we were celebrating a birthday! They gave... read more

16th August, 2015. What a pleasant surprise! In the middle of Pretoria Suburbia - An authentic experience of Fine French Dining! The menu, although limited, allowed enough variety and mouth watering delights for any connoisseur of French gastronomy with a Belgian twist. The superb, smiling and attentitive service provided by Kevin was the "cherry on top!" The Venue - the... More

This is our favourite restaurant for very special occasions. We have been going to La Madeleine for many , many years. We have traveled with them as they have relocated over the years. The food, French cuisine, is so delicately prepared and presented with flair and emotion by the owner himself. You have decided to enyoy the meal before you... More

We have been looking forward to visiting La Madeleine for a very long time. Unfortunately, our lunch experience did not nearly live up to expectations. The atmosphere was average. They only remembered to put some background music on well into our meal, after which it was a bit better. The service was ok, but we did not appreciate the automatic... More

This is a very romantic restaurant. The experience of going there was amazing. The food was inspired and the wine list was very good. The only down side was the price. The service was very good. I will definitely go there again.

This French restaurant doesn't have good parking, but once you are inside the atmosphere warms up. The decor is simple yet homely. The staff are very friendly and the owner personally informs you about the food selection. The food is well presented and very tasty. The prices are high but not excessive for this quality of food. Highly recommended.

We recently went to this restaurant for Sunday lunch. I have been to this restaurant before and I must say emphasize that I have never eaten the same type of food. So far, I have never been disappointed. My daughter and I had the beef starter and my other daughter had a mussels starter . My husband didn't have a... More

We have been going to La Madelein in Pretoria for many years, and since they moved to Lynnwood Ridge, our visits are more frequent. The cuisine is French Belgian, and is as close to a Michelin starred restaurant you would find in South Africa. In my opinion, it is the best restaurant in Gauteng, if not South Afirca. Daniel and... The Sunday lunch set menu is real value for money. You have a choice of some great dishes. The fish soup starter was delicious. Those that had the duck said it was real good. The wine list was outstanding and we were recommended a great wine. Will definitely be back

I have known this restaurant since it's beginnings in Esselen Street Sunnyside. We decided to visit it at it's current location in Priory Street recently. Rated as "top restaurant" we expected to experience at least what our memories of this place reminded us of. DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!! It is overrated. The staff are unaccommodating bordering on clinical rudeness. You dare not move... More
