Stopped here for lunch while traveling from the Grand Canyon to Durango. Chose this place based on TA reviews. Our opinions were mixed - my wife said her posole was excellent while my meal was average. The service was good. This place seem to be very popular as it was almost full even though it was well past the usual... More

Its surprising when I read the reviews that many say this is some of the best Mexican...I BEG TO DIFFER. I'm a local and I ate here twice in my lifetime. The first time I didn't care for my dish and my husband didn't either. Both visits I had the taco and enchilada plate but both times the taco shells... More

4 of us actually went here for my birthday meal as choices are rather limited in Kayenta. We ate around 8pm and found that most diners had finished and gone already, but still happy to give us a table. We had a mixture of burgers and enchiladas and I ordered a portion of fried bread. Not realising that 2 of... More

This little place was doing a good business on a Thursday lunchtime -- a couple of other tourists, and several groups of local folks (including a table of Navajo Nation cops). Restaurant was cute and homey, service was friendly and quick, and food was tasty and inexpensive. We had enchiladas, which weren't gourmet or anything special, but which worked well... More

Good stick-to-your-ribs food. Chiles rellenos, one combination dish plus posole were more than enough between two. The fried Navajo bread is very popular in these parts, but I just found it too heavy. Service was really friendly. And the bill? $25 (no beer!).

By the time we got to Kayenta on our Southwest Road Trip, we were open to just about anything. We barely got here on time (they closed at 8:30) and the place was packed. The service was outstanding. The guy who manages this place is among the best I've seen anywhere. The food? Well, we eat Mexican all the time,... More

It's made fresh and you can tell they use quality ingredients. You'd never know such great food would be served in the little adobe restaurant. Thank goodness for people who submit reviews because that's why we tried it and absolutely recommend. The Beef liver was extremely tender, the chicken chimichanga was huge and delicious.

We had dinner at amigo cafe during our stay in kajenta and I had a really good experience. The place is a bit small but very typical and the staff was very friendly and dedicated. I had a mixed platter with varoius mexican delicacies (tamales, burrito, taco, cheese enchilada and the classic guacamole and frijoles). It was all accompanied by... More

In Kayenta, you do have the choice of going to the Burger King or Sonic if you want to, but why not spend some time with the locals and eat where they eat. The Amigo Café isn't fancy, but the food and portions are good and the service is friendly. I'm glad I stopped by.
