What a pleasant surprise

Huge portions and I mean huge. The meat was good quality and so was the apple pie! Very friendly owner, it was good to see this place thriving when the only other places were the normal fast food chains.

Passing through and this was a delightful treat. My husband had the red enchilada plate , which was excellent. I had the Indian Taco, which was fabulous, and very large! The service was very friendly . This stop was like an oasis in the desert!

Amigo Cafe is nothing much to look at from the outside but it serves the best Mexican food I have ever had, and the meal I ate there was probably the best meal I had during my entire time in the US. The menu is just as you would expect - fajitas, burritos, chimichangas, all with a choice of fillings... More

Great food. Had the Mexican omelette and it amazing..covered in green verde. Good coffee. Fast service. The salsa was dreamy. I would have taken a picture, but I ate it way too fast!

Kayento isn't very big so this isn't a wide selection to choose from. There are a couple of chain restaurants in town. We passes them up and enjoyed a fresh cooked meal at the Amigo Cafe. Get there early as it closes at 8pm even on a Saturday night. The food is a very large portion and is well prepared.... More

Mexican is usually fast, but this rocked, and great value. Husband had El Combination, which came with taco, tamale, enchilada and tostada plus beans/rice for $10.95. Their $1.95 "cheese crisp" is basically open face quesadilla, and their red chili sauce is great. No margaritas or beer, but we are on the rez. Hot salsa upon request.

Had a wonderful, affordable lunch of really good Navajo tacos at eh Amigo café, just north of the intersection of 160 & 163 in kayenta. Friendly welcoming atmosphere, good service, yummy food. Unlike others that we tried, the puffy, fluffy Navajo tacos were super fresh without a drop of grease. Would return in a heartbeat. Bypass the chain fast-food joints... More

The parking lot was busy at lunch so we headed there for dinner. Had very good fajitas with chips and spicy salsa. Everything was fresh and tortillas had to be made there. Nice place with friendly service.

got a mini something that was a sort of salad bean ground meat thing served on what looked like a giant pancake was sopopilla dough the edges to be eaten with honey. All ok except they charge $2.30 for a glass of tea. the entree cost about $9.00 and was suitable for a medium lunch.
