The reviewer, LopingianTravels, who claimed Morgan’s is Ruan Thai reopened next door after it burned down has a lot of details wrong. It did not burn down. That was the building next door. And it is not the same management: that changed when the name changed, including a switch to a more varied menu covering a number of other cuisines.... More

Ruan Thai burned late last year (2012), leaving the restaurant without a home. The owners moved next door and opened Morgans restaurant where they continue to serve Thai, Indian, and continental cuisines. Our friends enjoyed the previous restaurant for their vegetarian fare, and we decided to give it a try one evening. We ordered a starter, fried corn fritters with... More

Delicious Thai food in a quirky setting. Unlicensed so BYOB. Portions are large and filling. Ask for extra chills if you like your food spicy!

A sweet garden with candles from where you can peep into the kitchen to see the Thai chef working. However you always seem to wait too long, and the food - while quite adventurous for Grahamstown - just doesn't taste exactly right if you've eaten at great Thai restaurants. Like most things in Grahamstown, it's just not spicy enough.

I am glad I encountered this wonderful Thai restaurant during my stay in Grahamstown. I felt comfortable there with nice meals and staff as well as Asian atmospheres. The food was delicious - my friend had curry and he said it was good and moderately spicy. I ordered rice noodles, which was very good. It was a healthy type of... More

Ruan Thai is not the fanciest most authentic-feeling thai restaurant but it's also not trying to be. Its what I would imagine 'home cooking' would be like thai styled. The small quirky dining room doesn't allow for a busy bustling atmosphere but as a venue for a small dinner with mates, or as a place to get takeaways from.. brilliant.
