We stopped by there for a drink ( different selection on bottled soft drinks) on our way back to Phoenix. The staff, although we did not eat, were most accommodating. Instead of food we bought 2 drink glasses, which are worth the exchange difference.

We came in at the end of the evening, only for appetizers and day at the bar. The bartender was Herkimer and friendly. I ordered a mojito, and while it was missing the simple syrup, it was tasty. I am the only one who had food and I ordered the butternut squash soup, which was delicious! The prices were a... More

My wife and I were staying in Sedona and decided to venture out to the less-touristy surrounding areas. We had heard about Jerome and this hotel, so we made the incredible drive to the town on the mountainside and were so thrilled at what we discovered! We stopped in at the Asylum Restaurant just as dinner was beginning and landed... More

We were here right before Halloween, and these folks had pulled out all the stops in decorating. After 3 days of fast food, we were ready for something more leisurely, and this fit the bill. I started with the butternut squash soup, which was very good, but had cumin in it, so not my favorite. Our appetizer was the baked... More

The attitude of the employees was not rude but not welcoming either. The old building is very cool but the food is overpriced and nothing special. The lunch menu was very limited; sandwiches & salads only. The squash soup is excellent but the pastrami sandwiches ($13 each); only average. $13 bloody marys (a small 5-6 ounces) are priced too high.... More

We had a window seat with an incredible view and were able to watch the changes over the valley during sunset. The food was great as was the service. The butternut squash soup was fabulous and had a little zip. My hubby had the Chilean Sea Bass and I had a spicy chicken dish. The dip with the artichoke was... More

After our scenic drive through Jerome, we arrived at the hotel and decided to have lunch at The Asylum. Food was very good, service was very good, the views outside the restaurant were amazing, and the history of the area and the hotel were very interesting.

We arrived for lunch and were able to have a window table with an incredible view! Hot pastrami sandwich was better then I anticipated as the pastrami was lean, not too thin, not greasy at all. Calamari salad was a pleasant surprise as the calamari from New Zealand were unlike any we had previously enjoyed. Mother Road Black IPA was... More

Asylum was recommended to us by one of the galley operators in town. She specifically recommended the butternut squash soup. OMG, this was one of the best soups I have ever had. I am looking forward to getting the recipe off the restaurant's website and trying to make it at home. It wasn't at all bland and had just the... More
