History, lunch and a view!

We had lunch here on a sunny Saturday afternoon. The food was tasty- we ordered various sandwiches and salads, all of which were fresh and well-prepared. They have a decent selection of local wines and beers, too. The building itself is fascinating, loads of historic atmosphere, and the view of... read more

We were very excited about the Asylum Restaurant. Overall the quality of the food for the price was disappointing. The service was also not up to what we expected. We would give them another shot mainly because there is not much in the area.

We decided on The Asylum due to the good TripAdvisor reviews after an afternoon of touring the town and a ghost walk. Normally, I am in agreement, but not in this case. We were seated around 7:45 and "greeted" by a surly waiter. Maybe he wasn't happy to see kids at his table or maybe he wasn't happy that we... More

We completely enjoyed our lunch here! It's very quant and cozy inside, beautiful views if you aren't in a corner. The food was excellent and presented very nicely. Only complaint was the paper table cloth.. I keep pulling it up when I was eating and it looked cheap

This restaurant is at the Jerome grand hotel, which is apparently haunted. Countless accounts of hotel guests encounters with the paranormal are journaled at the front desk. Considering my wife's phone froze upon entering the hotel and I was sure my phone was vibrating in my pocket when it wasn't even there, it seemed completely normal- not! The place did... More

We enjoyed our visit immensely. We had awesome Bloody Mary in the bar area made with their homemade infused vodka. It was the best we had ever tasted. We also had a wonderful visit with the owners; Jen and Rich! We were so happy they took the time out of their busy schedule to visit with us. We each chose... More

I can't say that enough, this was the best meal hubby and I have had in a LONG time! Already staying in the hotel, we decided to make reservations and showed up at 7, to be seated at a window seat. It wasn't an entirely full place, but the noise was pretty loud! That was my ONLY complaint. Because the... More

An old mining town that had been abandoned and is only partly inhabited. Local artists provide the flair. We heard 2 different stories about the Asylum but our waiter, who was a local, gave us the real scoop. The decor in the restaurant was lovely and the bathrooms were clean and well appointed. You can tell from the hallways that... More

Stopped in for a nightcap. Was told the bar was closed (8:45) but they would serve us a "quick one", even though a couple was just seated in the dining area. Others came in to the bar and were quickly told the same thing... Everyone left. Not good business.

This restaurant was recommended to us as a must experience! We specifically drove to Jerome on our way back to Phoenix after having stayed in Sedona a week to visit this restaurant and it did not disappoint on any level! To start with the restaurant is beautifully appointed and the view is magnificent. We had a reservation for noon but... More
