We stopped here for something to eat before visiting the petrified forest. The cafe is very unprepossing to look at but the welcome is great. The food is plain but good.

Hidden on Route 66 in Holbrook, AZ, Joe and Aggie's Mexican Cafe. You can't eat atmosphere, but if you could, this eatery would be delicious. But, you can eat enchiladas, and Joe and Aggie's are smothered in a classic, chili-powder based sauce that's the real deal. There are no surprises, just authentic Mexican fare served by members of a family-owned... More

I hate to do this since I really wanted to love this place. The service was great and the owner and waiter were very friendly. My waiter told me to look around while my food was being cooked and asked me questions about my trip which was great. It felt like eating at a friend's house. The problem was the... More

Good food. Friendly service. A nice gift shop. Great mural on the side of the building. My friends weren't mad for the coffee, hence only 4 out of 5. As a tea drinker I really liked the place though. A real slice of America/ Route 66.

I ordered enchiladas. They were the worst I had ever had. The place is dated and dirty. Plus they only have wine and beer. There were 2 good things. The owner is very nice and the green chili is excellent. If you need a place to eat in Holbrook, go to a chain restaurant. We have tried to find decent... More

We stopped for dinner at Joe and Aggie's Cafe and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and great "Cars" memorabilia, which we understand was given to Joe by John Lasseter since Joe was the inspiration for the Stanley character in "Cars-The Movie." Aggie's recipe for green chili sauce was delicious! A fun cafe along old Route 66!

Was lucky enough to sneak in just before closing after a long drive from Phoenix area and owners were so welcoming rather than annoyed! Friendly chat, some more family history and how it related to Disney's CARS...(the first one....you MUST see that first before travelling in this area through to New Mexico!!! ...not the second garbage one!!!!)..... This is a... More

Wife and I were traveling back to NC from Phoenix using I-40 and decided to stop here for lunch. Had read lots of (Trip Advisor) reviews that this place was not much on outside or decor inside but "to die for food". Disappointed to say that we found the (mexican) food okay but nothing out of this world. Wife had... More
