Affordable mexican

We were staying in Holbrook, AZ for a night and needed a dinner. We were suggested that we try this place as it is the best mexican in town. Prices were pretty decent, food was average. Friendly place, waiter was very patient and helpful. However, I hope this is not the best in town. It filled our... read more

Meet here to discuss business. It's very loud and took a long time to get food, even our drinks. The $1.50 tacos were great though. Nice sesdon, good size, nice and fresh toppings. Took a while to get out the door too. We got tired of waiting and went to the counter to pay. I'll do pickup here, but think... More

The tacos were good, as were the beans and rice. It's a good, basic, Mexican food restaurant with no frills. A pretty good small town restaurant. I would eat there again.

After visiting two rock museums, we stopped at Romo's for lunch. They were very busy and only one clean table was available - self seating. Because it was busy service was slow. Wife had fish and french fries but they were out of coleslaw (subbed side salad). Had to ask twice for tarter sauce and sliced lemon. I had shredded... More

Had dinner here last week. It is open a bit later than some of the other local places. All three of us live in New Mexico and can be Mexican food "snobs" but Romo's was not a disappointment. The green chile was tasty, but mild. Portions were adequate. They do have beer and wine. Service was good.

We were spending the night at a wacky bed and breakfast called Heward House and the woman who ran the place recommended this place highly. The town is big on local color and has all the chains, so to find a place with some real authentic feel was great and it was fun watching the locals. Service was great the... More

We passed through Holbrook, AZ as we traveled from Central Illinois to Phoenix, AZ. I had researched places to eat that were locally owned and authentic to the areas we traveled through. Romo’s Café (restaurant) was on our list and it did not disappoint. Our experience there was what we had hoped. The café was bright and clean and gave... More

Very good authentic Mexican food. Reasonable prices. Very popular with the area locals. The staff was very attentive to us during our dining experience.

Service was quick, food was good and hot and there was a Pow Wow across the street that evening to add to the evening. I had nachos that were some of the best I have. My daughter had chicken fajitas, my husband had a chicken chimichanga and my Mom-in-law had a combination platter. All of our food was great and... More

Great food and salsa! I had the combination platter, 2 enchilada's and a taco. The red sauce was spicy and good. The chips and salsa were good too. My husband had the half Navajo taco and it filled him. He said it was excellent and both red and green sauce was good.
