Stopped by on the way out of town, I got the 1/2 lb cheeseburger & husband got the torta. The cheeseburger was cooked exactly the way I ordered, mid rare, and very fresh ingredients were used to top it off. Husband enjoyed the torta but says "not as good as the torta in Cabo at Gordo Lele's, but it was... More

Stopped in solo for lunch as everywhere in Cottonwood & Jerome was packed this weekend!!! I've been to this at least a dozen times but have always driven right by this little jem. The food was amazing!! And the folks are super nice! Tried the carne asada burrito with extra cilantro & avocado along with their homemade salsa---deeeeeee-lish! Plus I... More

We were looking for a good place to eat and we found it! Wow all the reviews about this place are correct. When we first pulled up we weren't too sure but we had too very hungry kids. So we stayed and were very happy with our food. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The torta was excellent! I met the owner and asked about their homemade tortillas which sell out every day. He promptly heated 2 up on the grill with butter and gave them to me to sample (with salsa from the salsa bar). Fresh and delicious. The staff was very friendly too. Embrace the rough exterior and let your taste buds rejoice.

First time you go, trying the Torta is practically mandatory. You can experiment with the Chicken Philly and various delicious mexican dishes later.

Found this little gem in the yellow pages, then read the favorable reviews on the internet. Wanted to try some places that were not chain franchises, we chose this one. It is a little hard to find in the evening even though it is on Main St. It was certainly worth the effort. The food is very good here. I... More

During our New Years vacation, my family stopped her for lunch, due in large part because of the reviews that we have read here. The location looks very simple on the outside, but it was packed with local diners on their noon break. (always a good sign) The food was INCREDIBLE! The owner Bill helped us make our selections and... More

We took an overnight trip to Sedona from Phoenix and in the way stopped in Cottonwood AZ for lunch. Having read reviews in Tripadvisor we stopped at Verde Lea and glad we did. Beth at the counter was so sweet and cheerful. Chef/server Michael recommended the Torta sandwich which was phenomenal. Be hungry if you order it. It's a no-frills... More

My wife and I visited the area a couple of weeks ago and were intrigued by the write up in the Arizona Highways magazine. We ordered Burro de Carne Asada and we weren't disappointed. The owner Bill came over and introduced himself. Nice people, great food!
