This is a lovely German style restaurant that was fabulous when the previous owner was the chef. The food now is good but not as good as the precious chef even though they are trying to keep his recipes alive. it has nice ambiance and decent food.

We got there with excitement of having some authentic German food as the place has good reviews ... well, I have no idea what these people were eating. .. the food was absolutely horrible, especially taking into consideration the prices. The swine shank was simply not good, the wild platter with venison, elk and bison was tough, probably frozen... deserts... More

Chef Randy is outstanding! I have ordered German dishes (a specialty of the house), seafood (best scampi ever) and many other selections. Everything is great and the atmosphere is wonderful and very conducive to quiet conversation. A very strong recommendation!

We found one of their menus in the lobby of where we were staying and decided to check it out. It is German comfort food at its best, with generous portions, an excellent wine list and excellent service. What really made the meal an experience was a live guitarist (we went on a Friday so it is may be a... More

Nice lunch variety that included crepes and omelets for a late breakfast. Sauerbraten was as good as I had eaten at Mader's (5 star in old town) in Milwaukee. Soup of the day was a creamy clam chowder, plenty of clams and heavy cream. Service was immediate and quite friendly. Water glasses refilled before half empty, food was hot and... More

they do have good food here and it's nice inside with actual cloth table clothes and napkins. The prices are mid range and they usually have 2 or 3 yummy special. I had the sesame encrusted Ahi with a wasabi sauce that was delicious. My partner had the elk medallions that were tender and covered in a mushroom sauce. Excellent.... More

We arrived early, about 4:30PM, and there was nobody there. If you are looking for a cozy atmosphere, this is not it, but it is a nice sit down restaurant. I saw they had outdoor seating but it was too windy outside and too near a busy road for me. Our waitress was very nice & efficient. Our Calamari sticks... More

Upon entering it felt like we went back in time! Place decorations were dated , low ceilings with some tile showing water damage. The place was almost empty at dinner time. Weren't that concerned until we waited about 25 minutes before we got our salad. What happens when they are busy ?? Or maybe they don't get busy! Food was... More
