Lunch With friends

Nice lunch variety that included crepes and omelets for a late breakfast. Sauerbraten was as good as I had eaten at Mader's (5 star in old town) in Milwaukee. Soup of the day was a creamy clam chowder, plenty of clams and heavy cream. Service was immediate and quite friendly. Water glasses... read more

We found one of their menus in the lobby of where we were staying and decided to check it out. It is German comfort food at its best, with generous portions, an excellent wine list and excellent service. What really made the meal an experience was a live guitarist (we went on a Friday so it is may be a... More

they do have good food here and it's nice inside with actual cloth table clothes and napkins. The prices are mid range and they usually have 2 or 3 yummy special. I had the sesame encrusted Ahi with a wasabi sauce that was delicious. My partner had the elk medallions that were tender and covered in a mushroom sauce. Excellent.... More

We arrived early, about 4:30PM, and there was nobody there. If you are looking for a cozy atmosphere, this is not it, but it is a nice sit down restaurant. I saw they had outdoor seating but it was too windy outside and too near a busy road for me. Our waitress was very nice & efficient. Our Calamari sticks... More

Upon entering it felt like we went back in time! Place decorations were dated , low ceilings with some tile showing water damage. The place was almost empty at dinner time. Weren't that concerned until we waited about 25 minutes before we got our salad. What happens when they are busy ?? Or maybe they don't get busy! Food was... More

We had a TERRIFIC dinner at this German/Seafood restaurant. Crab cakes to start tasted very good and I am not a big seafood kind of person. I had the Duck with a Blueberry glaze with the potato and water crest soup, which by the way was AMAZING. For dessert I had the lemon blueberry cake it also was amazing. very... More

We have been to this restaurant many times and it never disappoints! The German food is absolutely delicious and the restaurant is quite lovely and slightly "old-fashioned", (just like visiting your German grandma's house!). We recently dined there with my sister and her husband, who were visiting from out of state. My sister lived in Germany for several years and... More

We discovered this gem perhaps 10 years ago. Imagine finding a gourmet restaurant in a sleepy farming community. We 80 miles away but this is our "go to spot" for a real treat. We had wonderful clam chowder, crab cakes (made with real crab), and kangaroo medallions. Everything was wonderfully prepared. Although the dessert tray was tempting and varied we... More

You know you're in trouble when you go into an empty restaurant and the hostess asks you if you have a reservation!

Good wholesome food that is always consistent and delicious. Nothing fancy but that is fine with me. Randy runs a great operation and has carried on the great culinary tradition of the previous chef-owner. Looking forward to Thanksgiving dinner which is like having all the trimmings at home. I have spent the last 3 Thanksgivings at Manzanita.
