In the 1930s, a man with the unlikely name of Johnny Walker built a bar called the Cave Creek Corral. Walker’s creation was an instant sensation with cowboys, playboys, politicians and laborers who gathered to drink A-1 beers at wooden tables under wanted posters.Harold Gavagan and his wife Ruth bought the Cave Creek Corral in the mid 1950s. Harold was quite a character, a depression-era Irish kid, a tough, but entertaining guy. Harold’s was a favorite movie location for Hollywood, attracting the likes of Dan Aykroyd, Bob Hope, Lynda Carter, Waylon Jennings and Dick Van Dyke. Cave Creek was not a short easy ride from Phoenix, in an effort to get visitors to Cave Creek, Harold acquired a trained lion and tiger act to entertain patrons.Once visitors were at Harold’s, he was concerned that they didn’t drink and stay long enough. So the building to the east of the restaurant became a bunkhouse, renting space for over night visitors.celebrities. Enjoy the fun atmosphere, interesting people and great food every day. We feature live country and western music Thursday-Sunday nights.Take a few minutes to browse the photographs on the walls of the characters and friends that frequent Harold’s. Good Food, Great Servers, Bad Gift Card Policy

It has always been a treat to eat at Harold's. It is a true western experience with fun staff and reliably good food. Twice however, we have been burned by their unfriendly gift card policy. If you don't use it for a year (there is no expiration listed) the card value simply goes to "$0". We have... read more

We had food here twice and also stopped for a drink, this place was pretty cool with what we found as reasonable prices and great service. They have a small quiet section as well which was nice. We would recommend this place for both a nice relaxing drink whilst sat at the bar soaking in the atmosphere or a nice... More

Harolds is located in a western town with a dirt parking lot. If you are expecting fine dining it is not, but if you want to enjoy one heck of a good time party where kids of 3 to 83 all enjoyed the music and fireworks with no issues, this is it. This year will be this Canadians third time... More

Large two full bar's and stage for live music. Atmosphere is a country bar. Wide variety of food and drinks. Service is spoty depending on waiter or waitress. Food is good and plenty. It is way out of the way place, about a 50 minute drive from Phoenix.

We stopped by Harold's after the bull riding on a Friday evening. They had a great band playing and the place was full of atmosphere. We only had drinks and they were fine. The bartender was attentive and we did not have to wait for our drinks - I would recommend a visit here!

Recently dropped by to see Cave Creek which is a true western town nestled in the Arizona desert. Harolds bar serves great food and great local beers and a great place to mingle with real cowboys. Try their burgers or fish and chips .... nothing like the English versions!. Then pay a visit to the MTM ranch and ride through... More

The food is good, lots of it. Terrible towels, player pictures, owner from Pittsburgh and the menu, decor and attitudes reflect that great fan spirit. When there's a game, you want to be here. New were there for STEELERS UNITE SuperBowl Party. Awesome. And no cover charge. Cave Creek brings it's own great cowboy atmosphere. Harrolds complete it

Over priced weak drink . blood shot eyed young male server. Maybe he worked a double? I won't go back. We had an excellent dining experience across the street at Z's Asian Fusion.

We go to Harold's all the time when company is visiting! It has a great atmosphere and fun music!!! We love going on Friday-Sunday when they have live bands and line dancing lessons. There is a huge menu and easy to find something for everyone! As a vegetarian there are options that are pretty good as well!

We stopped at Harold's for Happy Hour. We were a group of 10 ladies. The drinks were a good price. The appetizers were spectacular! You get 6 good sized wings for $3. That's a meal for us. The Grandma's meatballs are also wonderful. Three large meatballs covered with mozzarella. We'll be back.
