You can get a decent cuppa in the US

Lovely setting, felt like a little piece of Britain, but with the weather. I normally have to stick to coffee in the U.S, while on vacation, but not today, choose the Duchess of Bedford full on cream tea with breakfast tea, strainer included. We had lovely salads at the English Rose Tea Room. The waitress asked if we would like a roll with our salads. We said yes. We were very surprised to see an extra $2.00 charge for each of the small dinner rolls.

Hi Bonnie, So glad you had a lovely lunch and my apologies for the misunderstanding on your bill. Our dinner rolls are complimentary but we do charge $2.00 to upgrade from a small to a large pot of tea. Look forward to seeing you in again soon for lunch. Regards, Jo Gemmill. Owner. More

Always elegant, prompt, gracious, delicate and delicious, the English Rose never disappoints. A supreme selection of fine teas from prestigious purveyors is available to consume and also for purchase. Service is a smile-filled joy, with floral aprons and accents from the old country. The scones are sumptuous in size, and toothsome to the very last morsel, served with real clotted... More

We enjoyed a hot cup of tea with scones and desserts on a cool afternoon. It hit the spot. We saw some tea sandwiches go by and they looked very good. The owner comes with a real English accent. A very sweet place!

Most guys wouldn't dig this place, but ladies, including my wife, love it as a place to have a relaxing lunch with other lady friend. They even supply hats to make the women dining feel special. Located on Easy Street in the heart of Carefree, it's a perfect place to go with lady friends and then browse some of the... More

If you like iced tea with lots of sugar then maybe the tea rooms are not for you . But if you like hot tea ( ie normal tea )with tea leaves ( ie proper tea ) not just hot water and a bag on the side and elegant china cups not styrofoam cups... well this is indeed a find.... More

What an oasis! A little bit of English charm in the desert of Arizona is found on Easy St in Carefree, Arizona. It was a surprise to find some of the "home cooking" I had grown up with - from light-as-a-cloud scones (Puh-lease - it's not pronounced rhyming with "stones". They're scones, as in "prawns". lol) to a ploughman's lunch.... More

As I am only able to give this little bit of heaven in the desert five stars that will have to do. It deserves many many more. The owner, Jo Gemmill from Hampshire in England has made a massive effort to offer an authentic English Tea Room in the middle of Arizona. She and her staff are absolutely charming and... More

My family, although not British, has grown up drinking tea the proper way having been influenced by the tradition while living in a British ruled african country many, many years ago. We loved every second we spent in this quaint tea room. I gave it a "very good" because it was way too small for the number of people who... More
