Good food, but long wait for a meal!

Arrived around 6:45 pm, tried to get seated in one area (bar) but were told we couldn't (short-staffed). We then went to the cafe side, and although we were seated within 10 minutes, it took until 7:35 to get our food. We were seated where we could see the 'cubby-hole' into the kitchen and it... read more

My husband and I found this place by accident and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Phoenix. I had the Cherry Pie and it was amazing! My husband tried two different pies (I was too into my own pie to notice). We didn't have time for lunch but their pie business operates almost on it's own.... More

Excellent service, food cooked to order and timely. I do not usually have dessert but the rhubarb sounded so good I could not resist with a little ice cream it was well worth breaking tradition.

We stopped at the Rock Springs cafe on March 24, 2015 and was very disappointed. The banana cream pie had about a quarter inch of almost non-existant bananas on the bottom and about one and a half inches of whipped cream on top for a rip off price of $4.50. It was basically a crust with whipped cream as a... More

Poblano corn chowder is delicious. Just the right amount of spice. Meatloaf with green chilies was better than mom's. But get the gravy on the side as it was sort of instant tasting and salty. Sides are good too. Fried hot dog was unusual but a super alternative to the norm. Once seated service was fast and friendly. Pie is... More

We usually stop at Rock Springs Cafe on the way back home to Phoenix from Sedona. It's the perfect pit stop for a quick bite after a long car ride. Anyone who knows Rock Springs Cafe, knows that they are famous for their pies. They have nearly two dozen varieties, and you can purchase a whole pie to take home... More

We had been the Black Rock for food before with good results. After this time, none of our party will be back. We waited in line 20 minutes to pay for only a few drinks for the kids. Help was impossible to find, and when we did find it they couldn't help us... Every person I spoke to gave me... More

Staying at the KOA nearby and trail riding in the desert. On Tuesday, we were starved and saw it was Taco Tuesday. These tacos were absolutely delicious. Better still, the cost was a nominal $3. I brought home a piece of the best berry crumb pie I've ever had and our total bill was $11 plus tip. The ambience of... More

I had the Jack Daniels drunken pecan Pie and the Southwest Burrito and Beans. Both were great. This place delivers an experience. The outside resembles the wild west and the inside is very traditional for a western town. I enjoyed the conversation of the staff and the positive western vibe.

The place has a tremendous reputation so travelling on Black Canyon Highway we just had to stop and try it. Wow, so many pies (or flans as we would call them in England) to choose from. Our friends chose the coconut cream pie whilst we went for the more traditional Apple, with the crumble topping. The place has been around... More
