Breakfast stop on the way to The Canyon

As we were driving up I-17, we were debating where to go for breakfast. We agreed on a McDonalds or a Burger King and were waiting for one to be signposted. Instead I saw signs for Rock Springs Cafe and Rock Springs Pies. We were intrigued and took the turn. What we found, was a charming general... read more

This was possibly one of the best finds on this trip. It's a very cute and cozy restaurant and general store. I was instantly intrigued when I saw the sign for pie and I am not that crazy about pie. We walked in and couldn't stop wandering around the general store, it was nostalgic and cozy. We finally opted to... More

Driving between Flagstaff and Phoenix, we always stop at this cafe for a break and lunch. The menu is extensive with mainly "comfort" foods. It is always crowded so service can be a little slow. The selection of homemade pies is massive. And they are all good.

Pulled off just to stretch the legs and hit the farmers market. Saw pie on the front and had to give it a try. Just had a couple cups of coffee. One slice of Rhubarb and one slice of Mixed Berry. Really good. Place has been there forever. Nostalgic place to just relax and have some pie. Prices were good.

I have stopped for pies several times in the past and enjoy them...pricey but that's what one pays for homemade. This time we stopped at 2:30 for a late lunch. I ordered a chicken sandwich and my husband a meat loaf stacker. Tiny piece of chicken maybe 3 oz on a so so bun with old slides tomatoes and lettuce.... More

We had learned of this general store and decided to stop for some pie and a quick break from our drive. The pace is a little slow for our NY/NJ style, but that was our problem, I guess. The pies were REALLY yummy. We enjoyed coffee and each had a different piece. It was early, so the saloon was closed,... More

On our way to Sedona from Phoenix this was a suggested mid-way stop for some lunch, pie or just a rest room break. We were pleasantly surprised at what was offered. Not only is there a restaurant and "saloon", but a gift shop, market, rock/art gallery, gas station, etc. We also discovered a beautiful backyard setting (near a small waterfall)... More

First I stopped at the gas station/general store because my car needed gas. Clean restroom, so I decided to ask about food at the cafe next door. Another traveler on the interstate at the gas station mentioned she has had good breakfast and dinner. I stopped in at the cafe's bar for quick meal of an iced tea, burger with... More

Over the last 20 years this has been a stop for the family for any trip North of Phoenix. It has been 2 years since the last visit and yesterday we noticed changes. The menu and atmosphere of a 100 year old building is the good that has remained. Burger, ribs and taco salad quality and portion for price could... More

Waited for hostess to finish personal conversation with person I assumed, from conversation, to be off duty employe or a relative. Then we were seated. Server came to table in moments to take drink order. Returned with drinks. We ordered. Five or six minutes later server returns to table and lays menu on table and says, no brisket and walks...
