We were tired of the Pharmacists, Lawyers, and Wannabes trying to pass themselves off as tough bikers at a nearby bar (insulting the real bikers). St. Elmo treated us well for two nights, recommended it to my coworkers once I got home.

found it was the best place to watch the football Monday night. Locals brought in fixins for tacos they served up to anyone who wanted some. bar handed out raffle tickets for giveaways - hats, t-shirts, etc. Historic bar - 1902 - pretty cool place to have some fun during the game.

After I read St. Elmo's Bar could be the oldest bar in Arizona, I had to check it out while in town for the Bisbee 1,000 Stair Climb. We love the old historic buildings, hotels and bars but this was not historic--it was just old and dirty. We tried shooting pool, playing the juke box and hanging out but the... More

A locals hang out that was okay but a little rowdy later in the evening. Had some unsavory comments towards our group (all women) so we went elsewhere.

A certain local crowd hangs out and sometimes they have good bands, but the place truly is a dive and will make you feel dirty, just being inside. It's a small town, so if you're out and about you'll probably stop in. Just remember the hand sanitizer!

First of all, go at night. Or at least drink till it gets dark....... The night crowd is more like a rock bar. Locals, tourists, rockers, drunks, hippies, collage kids.... it's all here. St. Elmo's is the reason my wife and it go to Bisbee. This place has the claim to fame of actually being part of the "old west".... More

The Hotel looks over the St Elmo bar which we were told is where all the locals go. We sat on the deck at the hotel and watched the police arrive and speak to a few of the patrons (all young men). I will let the locals keep their bar.

We were told by several people to visit this bar.. I wasn't impressed but it was fine. Drinks were good and prices were average.. we went during the day and it wasn't that crowded. The interior was rough as were some of the customers. We sat at the bar to have a drink and probably would have stayed longer if... More
