Go for the Local Flavor

The food is fine, but you get to experience the local flavor and color of the people of Wasilla and especially those who fish. You might be able to listen in on a conversation or two from some of the local anglers. Informal is the watchword here.

Ten adults agreed the food and service was good and pleasing ten adults is a major accomplishment! There is a bar area also.

We were looking for a good place for breakfast. The cafe does a good job. The breakfast can be shared by 2 . Especially the omelets. Friendly & Clean. The server was very good, and she kept our coffee cup full !

For a good all around American meal in a casual setting, this is the place to go in the Mat-Su valley. Good food and a friendly staff. The steaks and seafood are above average for the area but so is the price. There are 3 areas of seating, in front is a breakfast style seating while a seprate area to... More

this bar is huge and in the cafe, we noted a lot of locals. We sat in the bar/lounge side which didn't seem like a bar because my husband wanted to watch the basketball game while eating. The steak was done exactly as ordered. I asked if they serve omelets all day and the waitress said I can get anything... More

This is an excellent choice for a great breakfast, friendly service and a touch of Ol' Alaska charm. Put it on your list if you have the chance.

Warm, friendly environment and excellent food and service! Read some ridiculous reviews about windbreak being racist? Laughable. Absolutely incorrect, they have a diverse staff of all races, and I am Latino and have never been refused service or treated with even a hint of racism whatsoever. Best fish and chips in the valley! Highly recommended if you want the true... More

Locally owned business that's been around as long as I can remember. Owner is a big fisherman and the decor is lined with local people's fish catching photos. Great food however it can be very packed so you might have to wait a little while especially Sundays around lunchtime.
