Stopped here for lunch and decided to share the Aweful-Aweful Burger. It was supposed to be double meat and loads of cheese. What we received was the most over cooked burger I had ever eaten. Kind of reminded me of the burger I once left on the BBQ overnight by mistake. What a waste of what probably started out as... More

I guess it depends what you're getting. I like their breakfast menu, and I like their dinner menu for most things. But the lunch isn't really spectacular - I've tried a few sandwiches and subs and they were good. I always like their dinner the most. They have great seafood and steaks. They offer a good selection of drinks. The... More

We were in Wasilla and Anchorage for business and our prospective customer took us for lunch to Trout's Place. It the local spot and the food was really good. Had the salmon burger...had to have it being in Alaska.

Service is still great in the restaurant, but food quality and quantity have gone down with costs going up. Still has the cleanest restrooms in the valley.

Went to this place like 5 years ago, returned last week..twice :) Once for breakfast and once for lunch Food was great both times, good portions and flavorful. Definitely recommend this place. You can sit in the restaurant or in the adjoining lounge. We chose the lounge, has a little yesterday" feel....really nice servers too, very helpful. Even tho we... More

I've been coming here, literally, since the place opened back in the 70's. They, like most local, long-term family style restaurants, have had their ups-and-downs and the UPS have far exceeded the downs. The menu is consistent, scrumptious and satisfying. One of the latest steps they have taken is to revert back to more 'home-made' things made on site rather... More

As a Wasilla resident I've had the pleasure of eating at Windbreak on several occassions. Whether taking friends to celebrate an occassion, enjoying a moment with my mom, or having a nice meal after a long night at work I have always been impressed by the quality and portion of food as well as the service. I will always go... More

Twice in the last month we brought out of town guests to dinner with us and the service was the worst its been in years. Not a very good impression. Wait staff were flippant, slow, inattentive, inexperienced. Good food and killer steaks.

Those of us who ate dinner were disappointed. One of us had an omelette which was great, but honestly how hard is it to make breakfast?
