High quality - well prepared

Much of my fine dining is in larger cities within the lower 48 states. I wasn't quite sure what to expect in Wasilla. The Grape Tap equaled if not exceeded many better known restaurants I've visited. I'm not kidding. This unassuming restaurant (looks like a little house) easily rivals long-standing Simon & Seafort's in Anchorage. The decor is hip, the service attentive and friendly, and the food? Amazing. Even their vegetables are awesome...our party had a vegetarian stir fry, a filet mignon & several appetizers. Each was excellent. Will definitely return.

This place is enjoyable and unique (not really fancy in the true meaning of the word as it is in an old house and rough basement.) It is fancy in the prices and the food selections are delicious. Nice for an intimate evening special occasion if you are not too fussy about the appearance. If you like wines..it is a... More

A nice, trendy restaurant and we liked how an old home was re-purposed into such a nice place. The variety of the menu was not overly extensive, yet it was very good. The location of the restroom, across the hall from the kitchen/food prep area is very awkward! The complimentary nuts served when we were first seated were a nice... More

This small quaint "house-style" restaurant is eclectic and fun to visit. I requested a quite area and got the perfect table. First off, Ian was our server. He was very nice, prompt and quick to keep our flutes full! I'm not sure what is in the warm bowl of nuts they have on your table, but seems like cumin, brown... More

The Grape Tap is an culinary oasis located in the desert of Wasilla, Alaska. Located in a renovated home, in addition to a dining area on the main floor, there is seating in the quaint basement as well. That's where we were, and it definitely had a European vibe to it. We opted to share a bunch of courses, starting... More

id recommend reserving a seat in the wine cellar area where its dark, romantic, candle lit and a tad bit creepy. the food has always been good and the servers did a great job. there arent many places comparable in the valley. calling ahead will assure you get a table since its a fairly small place.

This is a well decorated restaurant with tasty food, though the prices are on the high side for the quality and quantity received. The waitstaff can be hit or miss - sometimes pleasant sometimes dismissive. But if you are looking for a nice restaurant in Wasilla this is one of the only options and it's a good choice. If you... The Grape Tap is a wonderful place. My husband and I have gone numerous times and was never disappointed with the service or food. It is on the spender side but for a night out it is well worth it. A great little gem!
