Had a very yummy large burger and super delicious sweet potato fries. They were outstanding. A friend had a good salad with mixed greens.
We have been here 4 times and each time the order was wrong or inedible. A lot of locals love this place, but each time we went we regretted it. The staff is friendly enough, lots on the menu, and nice views from the picnic tables. As the name says its right on the harbor which is great for visitors.
Wish we would have eaten here earlier. Kept looking for more of a "restaurant" and what you get here is excellent quality and delicious fare. My friend had the tacos, I had the chicken sandwich, my husband had a burger, sat on the picnic tables and watched the eagles fly. Reasonable and delicious.
The Harbor Cafe is a nice little place to grab a bite, right at the harbor in Valdez. It has both inside and outside seating, obviously based on the weather. The food was very good. the sweet potato fries were really good! The burgers and fish were also good. It's simple eating, but its good!
As we walked up to the window to order, we noticed a menu with a lot of choice and variety. so we asked the person at the window what she reccomended, and boy was she right. My friend and I both orderd her favorite burger, mushrooms and swiss, amazing..... The chef even came out asked us how we liked our... More
My wife and I stopped for dinner one night while on our annual trip to Valdez. She was craving a patty melt and I like fish. T.H.C. fit the bill with her patty melt and my Rock Fish Tacos. My wife loved T.H.C.'s interpretation of a patty melt and I loved the Rock Fish. Great food and great People. Spent... More
We had wonderful salads and fresh salmon or halibut, very yummy. Plus good burgers for the non-fish-eaters. Friendly staff, nice surroundings. We would like to come again.
The hamburgers we ordered had some of best meat ever... lean, moist and great tasting. Their homemade strips of sweet potato are incredible! A little bit of a wait, beautiful day sitting outside... portions are huge... highly recommend!
I've tasted cheeseburgers all over the world and this was hands down the worst...It might even be worth going to so you have that truly awful burger to compare.
My fiance has gout, which makes it a little awkward to eat out at restaurants, especially here in Alaska where seafood and meats are in almost everything on the menus. The staff at the Harbor Cafe were courteous, patient, and very understanding, and went out of their way to accomodate my fiance's unfortunate dietary needs. The owner(?) offered to replace... More
