I know people have written that the food here is good, but I'm going to be honest, I'm a sushi snob, and the sushi didn't really "do it" for me. It wasn't bad by any means, but it is not a meal that I will remember. The flavors weren't unique, the rolls were not rolled up tight, the different rolls... More

The food was really good, I see people complain but it's sushi on a resort in the middle of nowhere. You're not in Manhattan, it's really good for where you are. The staff is super nice and the fish is really fresh. The Japanese scotch selection is awesome and is not priced too crazy. We wanted to go back but... More

Like everything else in the St. Regis. Great presentation, superb quality and a very professional staff. For what it is...a Japanese restaurant in the middle of nowhere, it hits high marks. We truly enjoyed the meal, it was very tasty and well presented. We ended up going twice to this restaurant and enjoyed every bite.

We dined here on our honeymoon and were guests at the St. Regis. After being in Moorea and not liking the food at our hotel (Sofitel) we were craving sushi. We both had seaweed salad (mine came with salmon even though I ordered shrimp), the volcano roll, beef udon and my husband got the 24piece sashimi. I thought the seaweed... More

We expected much more from a sushi restaurant at a 5 star lux resort and were disappointed by the food here. Certainly overpriced and average.

It is very hard for me to enjoy a japanese restaurant with a chef there is from somewhere else...the food was ok...it is more contemporary japanese...the fish were very fresh but the rice wasn't rice which for a sushi makes a huge difference...we ordered 2 combos and it was too much food...but it is an interesting option if you are... Whilst staying at the St Regis for 10 nights on our honeymoon, this was the restaurant we dinned at the most and that's because .... the sushi is AMAZING. We stayed for some days in the st Regis (see other review) and had dinner in the restaurant. We have only been there one time as we found the food only "ok" and didn't feel the "wow effect" you would expect - fish didn't appear to be mega fresh and the service was as usual in st Regis not convincing.

Service was wonderful. Setting was wonderful. Unfortunately, we are true "foodies" and take our sushi very seriously, so when we were served "chef's favorites" sushimi platter, we really expected the best (especially considering the fish on this island is awesome!) - but, the cuts of fish were poorly done. The sushi chef needs to spend some more time perfecting how... More
