Love the informal, family-style atmosphere at the Roadhouse. For lunch I had reindeer chili and the most fantastic, yeasty, potato bread. Service was prompt and courteous and the young man at the check-out was really nice. Lots of tempting desserts on display, too!

The food is very good and you need to save room for dessert or buy a sweet for the next day. Serving were large and so are the bakery items.

this is a terrific place, total communal setting where you sit with new people and get to know their stories. The food was great, i had blueberry pancake, much larger than a dinner plate, more like a crepe. My wife had a half serving of eggs and bacon and potatoes. I can't imagine what a full order would look like.... More

We had a very good breakfast here. Real, homemade sausage gravy, homefries, pancakes, breakfast wrap, and sticky bun were all enjoyed. Warning- portions are huge! Prices appear high but a hot and cold drink are included in the price. Family style seating...seat yourself.

What I loved so much about this bakery is the selection that included non sweets. It's been a long time since I found pastey's this awesome and they have a little reindeer sausage rolls that I would love to stock my freezer with. Of course the cinnamon roll was incredible too!

The "half standard' plus a side of hotcakes was perfect for me. I wanted to experience both items, and managed to finish both.

Walk in and find ANY available seat at ANY table and sit down...you don't get a table all to yourselves but share tables with other diners which encourages meeting and conversing with new people...a great way to meet new people from all over the country and world!

We had a good time here for lunch, and loved our meals. The tables are large, and you sit where you find room, joining other guests. For lunch, the Reindeer Chili is excellent. We returned the next day for breakfast, and waited 75 minutes for our food, and the food was very average - we should have tried another place.... More

In the small town of Talkeetna is the Road house Cafe, which is quaint and in keeping with the history of the town. They have great bakery items including wonderful breads. The food is good and they give you good sized portions. The waitress seemed to be new and we had to ask more than once for something because she... More
