The surprise started when a server came outside to chat with us while we were reading the menu by the door. We left for some shopping but returned when the Seafood Mac & Cheese she had described called out to us. As one of the other reviewers reported, that was a surprise - not at all the seafood mac &... Stopped by for late lunch and really enjoyed it. The weather was beautiful, so we sat outside. The server was very friendly and efficient. The food was great! We ordered the Fish and chips, halibut and a couple of salads. Everyone was pleased. Expect about $20-$25/person.

Wouldn't recommend for a memorable meal - food is average. There are several better choices in the little town of Talkeetna.

My favorite is the Seafood Mac & Cheese. A great surprise, hunks of Halibit, large Shrimp and scallops, in a cheese sauce that was surprising mild and did not overwhelm the seafood. Other items on the menu that I enjoyed on return visits the open face crab sandwich and the seafood asian salad, and rice bowl with fresh veges.

We stopped in for a glass of "adult beverage". The bar service was very good and the people were friendly. Didn't have anything to eat, but, based on what we did have, I'm sure it would be good.

Kahiltna Bistro is in Talkeetna near the railroad. Stopped here to eat as it looked like a good place from the outside and was conveniently located on the main strip. Food was nothing to brag about. When we got our soup, it was kind of cold. Waitress was not too friendly. There are other places in town that are much... More

Ate here because everything else in town had an hour wait. It was good but not great. Had scallop appetizer, halibut, and salmon, spinach salad. Halibut was best. They seemed to have a bit of an issue with wait staff learning but it was fine for a light dinner.

Good meal - not great but was end of day and we were beat. Interesting little place and worth the stop. Near the princess cruise bus stop. Interesting atmosphere and people

We ate lunch here before they took us fishing. We brought our fish back that we caught that day and they prepared it for us for dinner. It was a wonderful surprise! The meal was the best we had in Alaska. Highly recommended.
