Decided to give the new menu a go and we were very glad we did. I had the Venison Osso Bucco and my husband had Ribeye steak. Both meals were superb, couldn't fault them at all. We were also given some ice cream samples to try, salted caramel and mascarpone, orange and date. They were amazing. We will be going... More

Had an awesome school reunion dinner. Couldn't fault the meal. We started with the breads and dips then I had the fish for main course just delicious. Loved having real cloth napkins. The only complaint wine waiter not up with the current wine list kept saying it was out of date but guess not her mistake and she poured half... More

It was beautifully presented, delicious food with a real flare of flavours! I stuck with the evening specials, including a cauliflower and blue cheese soup and a roast duck leg with pumpkin gnocchi. It was all gorgeous. My companion's food all looked just a good...and the Bluff oysters were huge! It was accompanied by great drink and stellar service.

We enjoyed our night out at Braided Rivers. The lamb shoulder was excellent - huge portion, melt in your mouth. Go to this restaurant if you want a relaxed dining experience and not if you expect fast food. Both of us enjoyed our dessert (Crème brûlée and Panna Cotta).

We had to wait a considerable time to be seated prior to our meal. We had booked for our evening out. Initially we were given water, specials and able to order drinks which we waited some time for. Our dinner order was taken and again we had to wait quite a while for our food to come out. My pork... More

We went to this restaurant last night. In short, very poor service. We had booked for 7pm (4 adults, 2 children). We arrived, waited in the bar to be seated, had our order taken at 7:15pm, but by 8:30 had still not received our starters! Eventually they arrived at 8:40pm, by which time the children were very edgy. An apology... More

I ordered the Scotch fillet Steak, medium rear. The steak was good, but seemed more like a standard pub fare meal, rather than the Classy Restaurant that it looks like. The Outdoor waiting area is a bit chilly, and not very welcoming.

It was my last evening in Ashburton, having taught at the Braided Ribbons Quilt Symposium, and a group of tutors and committee members (12 of us) had dinner at the bar. We were tired and hungry, but had to wait quite a while for our food. When I enquired as to how much longer we would have to wait, I... More
