Once the person standing next to me admiring her pricing on the food cabinet decided to go to the other side and serve me, we were under way. Difficulty in trying to understand my simple order but the Chef heard and clarified. Coffee and eggs great.

We had breakfast at Mountain Rock cafe on one particularly cold morning, so the heat inside was welcome. Service was not overly friendly, although not unfriendly either. Just so-so. My wife had Eggs Benedict and she said it was the worst she ever had - soggy, and with only teeny-weeny little pieces of bread.

We dined here twice and found the basic menu adequate for our needs. The food was presented well and waste tasteful. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We went in for a breakfast a few weeks ago and all the staff were miserable, unfriendly and unwelcoming.Should have stayed a video store. Went up the road to the cafe next to BNZ and received a warm country welcome and hearty breakfast.

It is a cross between a nice restaurant and a pub, and you could feel like you are in either one depending on where you sit. The waiter/bartender was very energetic and helpful, and let us sample some of the beers we weren't familiar with. The food is good.

Maybe ( certainly) not the best restaurant of the town but ambiance relax, Young. The bar is nearly unlimited, really good choice for the beers. The food is not a discovery but good without prevention. The service is great and smiling! The decor is maybe the principe of a boutique hotel : a lot of things to sale: funny.

We had a great Friday night meal at Mountain Rocks. There was live music that we really enjoyed, and the food was good. Our meals were pan fried fish, and deep fried fish. Both were delivered promptly and were delicious. The place was not full, but still had a nice friendly and fun atmosphere.

We were on our way to Wellington from national park. Stopped at Ohakune for small break. Landed up at the mountain cafe. We're not really sure what to order ended up with some chicken wrap with some coffee. The wraps were juicy fresh and just perfectly made. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The place very creatively designed.

Had a lovely dinner, very very tasty fish and chips and a seafood chowder which was thick, creamy and full off all the chowder goodies. We really enjoyed our meal and had a great time looking at all the signs on the walls with their different slogans!
