We took shelter from a cold day in Avila after the visit to the Cathedral [which is literally right across the little plaza from this restaurant]. The second story location gave a very cute view and the place was decorated in a heart warming red. The service was impeccable from the get go, the food was sublime-- from the bread,... More

not just because we were trying to eat at 20.30 - not that smart this part of Spain - so many restaurants were closed even though it was a weekday night we ended up at Alcaravea not really by choice. We were welcomed - as the only diners not surprising so with the rather old fashioned decor and just two... More

I had booked this restaurant after the good reviews. We were not disappointed. We were a little early as it had been wet and arrived a bit before 9 pm. We were welcomed by a very nice gentleman to choose a table we wished to sit at. The evening just got sunnier. The food was excellent and the wine that... More

We were extremely happy with our lunch. The food was tasty and reasonable and the service was great. Sat outside with a view of the Cathedral. Highly recommend Judias de Blanco.

Anyone heard about an economic crisis hitting Spain very hard? This restaurant continues as if nothing happened, taking the customer for granted. The food was not impressive at all. Daily cuisine. Send staff back to school, so that they can learn why and how some Spanish restaurants belong to the best in the world. Others apparently do not care ....... More

Restaurant is located in the center of town. Had no reservations and showed up for lunch. They had no problem seating us. The food was regional and excellent! We had croquettes, white bean stew and the Iberia ham and vegetable risotto. We noticed there were a lot of "locals" in the restaurant, which is always a good sign.

Best service in long time! I took "Solomillo" for me and it was, simply, delicious. It has a terrace and an upstairs saille with balcony opposite the Cathedral. Well decorated and some good manners required (not obligatory): better not top tanks neither flip flop. This restaurant wonders to keep a classic high standard environment. Bottled water+ Red house wine+ Bread... More

We had a beautiful meal on a cool and very calm night in Avila. The wine was perfect and everything we tasted was just perfection from the judias blanca, a very intriguing revuelto de morcilla and la pièce de résistance: solomillo de ternera. The only drawback was a liberal use of air freshener in the dining room. Bizarre. Once the... More

Four of us stopped by without reservation for lunch and were immediately made welcome. The restaurant is obviously popular so we were lucky to get a table in this authentic and bustling restaurant. Good choices on menu including many local and classic Spanish dishes. Excellent bottle of wine and friendly service means we will be back when next in the... More

This restaurant was very near the hotel we were staying (Palacio de los Velada) and was recommended not only by Trip Advisor, but our hotel. We were not disappointed. We showed up "late for lunch" around 3:00 when most folks were finishing up, but they were very welcoming. English menu was a plus. We ordered the steak at medium and... More
