Appetizingly satisfying

I can only reiterate what great value this restaurant is, with good sized portions and real traditional home-cooked food. Had some goat cheese on a bed of apples and then chulletton. Together with red wine. Very well served, although the ambiance and decoration can be better. But the food makes up for it.

For large helpings of honest "home cooking" style food, Los Candiles is a fine place to have a meal. The restaurant is comfortable, the service attentive, friendly, and efficient. A great (if filling) way to start is one of the local soups, like the tomato/bread soup we ordered, coming to the table piping hot in a cast iron bowl (do... More

The best cochinillo I had in spain and I also tried them in Segovia and Madrid. The restaurante ambient is nice and the waiters are very attentious.

I visited Avila last weekend and read some reviews about this restaurant. The reviews don't to it justice! The actual restaurant decor isn't great, but if you ignore that, it really is a great discovery, great value, service is amazing and the food is really good - homemade and very tasty. The meat is delicious, the salads really fresh and... More

We got a table for the second sitting at 3.30 pm, and were served free drinks as we had to wait 10 mins or so to sit down. The place is small, so it's definitely recommendable to book in advance, especially at the weekend. There was a set menu for 25€ which included a large steak (the speciality in Avila),... More

We had a great experience at Los Candiles Restaurant. Friendly and fast service, and some of the best steaks we have had recently. Huge but perfectly cooked chuletons which were tender and tasty. Excellent simple starters and generous desserts to start and finish the meal and a very pleasant Ribera del Duero all included for 25 a head. A must... More

We had lunch twice there during our two days trip to Avila. A very nice lady helped us to order food as we don't speak Spanish. She recommended the local soup which was so good that we ordered it again the second day. We also tried three different fish dishes, all very good. The service was excellent as well. Will... More

We needed to reserve a table. The service was excellent an excellent menu. We ate from the al la carte sharing their Chuleton. One of the best steals I have ever eaten and overall not too expensive.
