Food spot for a drink

This cafe/tapas bar is located right in the centre of the old town right next to the big castle. The food and drinks are very well priced and on a hot afternoon the outdoor seating offers reprieve from the sun.

They offer a good list of tapas and we chose 3 of them. Really delicious, mixing different ingredients in a way that few could have done. The price is very honest, the wine list is also good. The ambiance is cozy and service very friendly. It is situated in the avenue outside the walls, very close to the cathedral. Very... More

The father and son duo who own this restaurant make you feel at home. Four of us, traveling in Spain, had dinner here and the tapas were marvelous.- especially the goat cheese and caramelized onions and the goose liver and caramelized apples. We had double orders, along with some others tapas, and two bottles of wine. What a great evening..This... More

II took my teenage son and his girlfriend to this great little tapas restaurant and highly recommend it. They have a great selection of typical tapas, which really open young taste buds to the flavours of Spain and, because they are not too expensive, you can try a wide variety. This is the second time I have been here- once... More

This is a place where wine lovers get the proper treatment, although you can also order some nice (locally brewed) beers. As elsewhere in Avila, you get a nice tapa with your drink. Very dynamic place, as they serve special menus, organise all type of cultural and gastronomic events (the latter together with the neighbouring bars).

We stopped here for some tapas in the afternoon - and booked a table for the evening. We had wines by the glass because we wanted to try different wines, the selection was huge. We ordered a mixture of dishes like (green) asparagus, salad, steak (which came with potatoes, not with chips, that is rather rare in Spain), and filet... More

this bodeguita nestles in the walls of this wonderful mediaeval town adjacent to the cathedral so it is ideal to visit after an impressive walk round the ramparts. It is small and very popular with locals ( a good sign). The wines are extensive and all served with great pride by an extremely knowledgeable and efficient waitress. All our accompanied by... More

Avila is a really interesting spot in Spain and if you are into your Spanish wines and tapas, then this is one of the best places I've visited for wine selection and good quality interesting tapas. On the day I visited, there was a choice of at six ribero del Duero reds, six Rioja reds, plus various Rose and White... More

A great selection of wines, nice atmosphere and good service. Lots of good tapas options too. There are a good selection of by the glass wines, we didn't have deserts though as they are the pre-made Nestlé ones.

Popped in for a glass of wine around 9pm, while out to see the illuminated walls, and stayed for three (125ml) as we were enjoying the atmosphere so much. Delicious tapas were supplied with each glass ordered, including meatballs, calamari, olives and bread with Serrano ham and cheese. We also ordered some toast and pâté, with caramelised apple slices, as... More
