AMERICANS BEWARE!

As we all should be conscious of what we order and the charges, this restaurant is an extra call out to being diligent. While menus and items are brightly illustrated in respective languages - and you point precisely to your desired order - doesn't mean the waiter won't decide for you. In our... read more

After a slightly inauspicious start when the cork disintegrated in the wine bottle, the meal was good, solid Castillian cooking - good quality meat, well prepared and served without pretention. Would definitely recommend for an authentic meal close to the Cathedral. By the way, the wine (Muga, Crianza) was very good, once the cork issue had been solved, and the... More

Probably the worst lunch we have had in Spain. The main course was obviously re-heated. Never had rock hard suckling pig before.

Ate here yesterday and we were so appreciative to have fresh crunchy salad and lovely grilled vegetables. After 2 weeks of travelling around Spain and feeling desperate for something other than meat, jamon, cheese or potatoes, that is green or fresh and still with some life in it we were delighted with our grilled vegetables (mushrooms, eggplant, zucchini, tomatoes, red... The food is excellent and great value. However the service is what made the evening wonderful. Thank you Mike and Maria. My wife loved her noodle soup and barbecued ribs. I enjoyed my Crema de St Theresa and trout.

We had lunch there. We (three) selected the 12.90 euro menu of the day, which covered a starter, main course, dessert and 1/2 litre of water or house wine. We ordered 9 different types of meal because we wanted to try everything we could. I'll write only my selection: Sopa Castellana, which was some meat soup on toast and grated... More

I had Sunday lunch here, having seen recommendations on Tripadvisor and was not disappointed. Clientele was mainly local, food was traditional and served in generous portions and at reasonable prices. The ambience was good, lively enough in an unobtrusive way, and the location is quite central. Service was pleasant and efficient and I particularly commend the staff's level of Coeliac Awareness

We stayed in Avila with a group of 40, and ate here each night. The 3 course tourist menu offered a good range of local products with a genuine Spanish flavour, together with a good local wine to wash it down. We found the staff cheerful and helpful, and I would happily recommend this to other travellers.

OK I know this is a tourist town but why do the restaurants have to be so bad? This one came up pretty high on the TripAdvisor list so we made a reservation. Everything we ordered was pathetic. My wife's supposedly grilled baby squid were more likely boiled and swimming in liquid while my chicken schnitzel had died of old... More

We stopped by following a rather good tripadvisor rating, but in our experience this is just a standard touristic restaurant. We had a decent lunch, payed an acceptable bill and enjoyed a funny street singer doing quite a show for us.
